Your Top Three

Back to Common Grounds.

1. Getting drawn and quartered for treason - Not exactly fun, but definitely intense.

Uh... can't think of anything else. I'll get back to you.
Unknown2007-06-02 00:42:35
1. Getting turned by Daevos and Murphy to come to Magnagora
2. Dreadlords of course. Murphy is probably the coolest guy I have met in an IRE
3. Sparring non-stop with Deangelo for hours. Because we both got pissed when the other won.

There are a lot more but those have to be my 3 faves right there

1. Glom getting Rockholm last fall. When I started playing Nirrti, I really wanted to see Glom get a village. Revolts were my little obsession. It took nearly a year, the opportunity came out of the blue, and I was ecstatic.

2. Congratulations, you get to found the first bard guild...

Rumour had it we were getting nexus worlds. I was not happy. But the frantic scramble to come up with ranks, scrolls, guild structure and programs, etc, with Kamilah and Val's help, and that of a lot of friends behind the scenes, wound up being very cool.

2. My first few weeks in the Blacktalon: meeting the Aspects of Crow, learning Crow Tongue, having Xavius as a mentor, being a newbie in Glom at a time when it was overwhelmed and under constant assault. All an awesome experience.

Honourable mentions: Nirrti's conversion with the help of Ayridion (to whom I am quite grateful, because he is marvellous), getting her engaged and preggers (with thanks to another extraordinary roleplayer)

1. Shayle's lesson regarding Truth when Synl was young. Many other talks of the sort, all memorable, but that first one was what really made me stick to this character.

2. Trying to steal a certain someone from Serenwilde (still going on). The RP encountered from both that person and people from the Glomdoring makes it quite enjoyable.

3. Getting Seer in the Shadowdancers. It seems like a simple job, but something about the guild makes it far more interesting (and fun).

4. Getting King of the Night. She can't be Queen forever!
Valarien2007-06-02 01:19:34
1. Getting supramortal - Not needing to eat or sleep still ranks pretty high on my list of 'Thank god I don't need to do that anymore'

2. Performing the single successive coup (shortlived as it was) in Glomdoring's history. Say what you will about what happened and what took place, but nobody (certainly not me) saw that one coming.

3. Actually still ongoing, Val's move to Celest. The roleplay build up is crazy, and many thanks to a certain two Divine for all the roleplay involved therein.
Creslin2007-06-02 01:20:00
1. Terentia joining me on Celestia when I was really, really insane after a wildnodes and being chased by a very persistent yellow duck, trying to heal me of the insanity, then wrapping her arm around me and comforting me when it didn’t work. wub.gif

2. Going to Magnagora as a young Celestine and getting a long guided tour with an entourage of Magnagorans and Morgfyre, before being tricked onto Astral and forced into a ritual I had to be saved from.

3. Celest and Serenwilde working together to aid the Kephera during the event, then spending countless hours in the Undervault working with people from Celest and Serenwilde to collect loti spores and raise the Queens, and becoming Ecclesiarch in the middle of it. A really nice couple of days.

1. Becoming friends with Kharaen IC and OOC, with all the ups and downs.
2. When my honours list started requiring a MORE to see all of it.
3. The week I spent releasing gorgogs non stop.

I still hate you.
Lysandus2007-06-02 01:37:08
IC: For passing my GR2 test as a Celestine with Lady Simimi and Lady Yurika (missed you both)
IC: Married to Isluna
IC: Joining Elostian's Order then now in Ayridion's Order
OOC: Many things Happened When I was Turgeis, so yeah, that's my top one.
OOC: For being part of the Kalas for a short time.
OOC: Dunno what's my third.

3. Getting drunk in the guild hall with Valarien and Veyda for friendship bonding, having Viravain pop in to join the festivities, and not being able to walk or talk because of her divine cognac. Thank God for Dramatics Sober.

And you didn't get in trouble for it? Not supposed to drink in the commune proper. Tsk tsk tsk. sleep.gif
Vaerhon2007-06-02 03:26:33
1. First encounter with a Divine. Vaerhon was still 17 or so, and had just begun to hit and run (with full sparkleberry/scroll/etc.) normal astral spawns. He had to hunt elsewhere to be able to afford the expeditions. Anyway - Vaerhon was up there on his third expedition or so, trying to map out when the spheres link and unlink, and a voice appeared out of nowhere with random questions. I couldn't tell if it was insanity or not at first - it turned out to be Elostian.

2. Crewing and conning the Aquila through a remarkable weakening. Undercrewed and repeatedly up against a fully crewed Fang, we got off four bombardments and imploded the Fang five times. I've had a lot of great times in aetherspace and with the Aviators, but that day our teamwork was seamless and our luck was good. An hour and more in the zone.

3. Magnagoran raids with approximately even numbers. Had a great time with Ixion/Malarious on Water, and more recently with Ralek/Prailie in Delport. Still need to get better at combat, so it's usually me doing the dying, but the game of cat and mouse with occasional successes is great fun, and can stretch for hours. It's a pity that the balance of forces is so rarely even that these don't happen more often. Picking a category is cheating, I suppose, but I would have picked one or another member of it for third, and couldn't make up my mind as to which.

@Creslin - yes, raising the Queens was a good time and an interesting opportunity to meet people from Serenwilde. But... the spores! twitch.gif
Shamarah2007-06-02 03:31:52
1. Winning the Seal of War. Go team!

2. Hajamin's order, enough said.

3. The Dreamweaving event. That was awesome.

Actually, not supposed to get *drunk* in the Commune Proper.

Of course, that's what he said he did-- he should punish himself!

my three

1. Getting Knighted by Terentia and a couple of days later quiting for Magnagora halo.gif

2. Joining the Kalas

3. Alianna wub.gif
Ialie2007-06-02 04:30:32
1) Killing Yrael

2) Killing over 30 people in my Aethership

3) Killing several people over and over again when I found a bug that caused people to heartstop.
Arix2007-06-02 04:51:32
1. Picking cooking and starting Arix's Mobile Liquors after the first Kethuru event
2. Talking one-on-one about the elder gods with Charune
3. The Ritual that I did with Lacostian and his order to figure out how to cure astral insanity
There are more, but it says top 3, so...
Unknown2007-06-02 05:09:47
1. Going to Crumkindivia with Shorlen and learning how quests work in Lusternia.
2. Vix. Nejii. Absinthe.
3. The one time I debated Daedalion and won.
Hmm. More moments in progress!
Gwylifar2007-06-02 05:10:01
1. Finishing the Grey Moors quest.

2. Back in the first weeks, when contagion was enough to defeat an entire commune since no one had the cures yet, killing Visaeris.

3. When crazy-Kethuru-Viravain came to kill White Hart, being there to try to stop Her, even if all I could do was die futilely. While Hartstone's GM was too busy harvesting eight rooms away to bother to come (nor did she participate in the efforts to raise Hart that kept me up for most of the next 24 hours).

1. Sneaking into the Serenwilde as a 16 year old novice Glom for no other purpose than to see how long it'd take for me to get booted out. I figured it would take a couple minutes tops, but instead I ended up wandering around for nearly an entire night without so much as a single player character saying a word to me, nor running into any (at least as far as I could tell, not having thirdeye at the time). I probably would have left sooner, but I hadn't learned teleport yet and managed to get myself terribly, horribly lost, and ended up having a small number of highly talkative guards stalking around after me until I managed to get out. It was a really entertaining experience.

2. The "serpent event" that lead to the discovery of Xion, particularly the part where Glomdoring let its first construct go to pot and ended up with a HUGE mob of serpents in its nexus world. This was during a time where, ICly, my character was starting to notice social rifts in the commune and the generally unpleasant political climate for the first time, and everything in the commune wasn't precisely what it was like as written in the CHELP and GHELP files. This part of the event ended up pitting the whole commune together to try to kill all the serpents, acting as a single unit in the process. I don't think we've ever been quite that coordinated since then. So even though I died at least eleven times throughout that IC month, I had a lot of fun with that, and it helped ease my character into the IC realities of Glomdoring. Oh, and I had the ever important task of constantly razing the serpents so people wouldn't just pound away at pentagrams when the darn things were near death. That too. ninja.gif

3. The Astral plane. Just... all of it. Insanity, shifting spheres, mobs of linked critters that killed people earlier and have yet to be cleaned out, getting loads of herbs from said critters while slowly pegging them one by one, ending up bashing with people I'd never expect to wind up bashing with, and coning trips. Coning trips! Whoever thought of this concept is a genius. Coning trips always seem to be fun to me, even when things go terribly awry, and they're downright awesome when everything goes well. My favorite one was probably with Hyrtakos and Ashteru, where we took three nodes down from crackling/rainbow to motes, and on Libra we did at least several minutes of uninterrupted linking, racing to kill wave after wave of mitrans before the next would come. Spammy, but fun!

1) Just starting my character, the Janitor of Magnagora. I sort of built him as a minor guy but he turned into something more. It also kept me from either doing too many characters, or trying to "play as a grind-level-addict" and just enjoy the game in a casual manner.

2) The Return of Isune event during the 1st year anniversary, I spent a lot of time with Her after that, just hanging in her Fulcrux and talking to her. I miss her.

3) I have to say the release of aetherships. I ended up buying all the gem commodities in Magnagora, Serenwilde, and Glomdoring, then having Ialie make powerstones, then feeding them into the receptacle. Once that was done, a whole buncha people came, and I ended up crashing in the Starfall Haven maiden voyage. It wasn't so great from the "plot" perspective, things like Xion were better, but just from the awe the playerbase had and the dozens of threads on the forums afterwards.
