five votes. Last time i played everyone made that out to be a bit early for a roll claim. I will give it if you other people think it's needed. (only thing I still don't get about this game)

I think roleclaims help because people can go and investigate them and see if they look real. And if you're a very important role we can also protect you just in case the mafia wants to go after you

Alright so... Is 10 pages really long for a first day? I think I thought it would be done by now, but I have no clue how the game really works. (Was kind of hoping it would have ended soon so I could see what happens next. So far, it's just a lot of confusing posts and accusations.)

Also, what is up with the way Amarysse leapt on Okin for his very obvious joke? At this point, it seems like everyone is just voting and unvoting in a mad rush with no reasoning at ALL.

I still don't get how roleclaims help us. Could someone explain that?

On these forums, if a game runs longer than this on the first day people will start losing interest.

Oh well ok here's the rundown on a roleclaim:

They're basically a statement of who you say you really are, ie, what role the mod assigned you. Whether you tell the group the truth, a lie, a partial lie, or some mash up of truth and lie, is up to you, but it's basically a bit of information about you that you supply

Okay hmm, I still see Quidgy around so here comes more questions (and I'm asking them here in case other noobs are wondering).

Are there a set of roles that are ALWAYS in EVERY game? Like didn't Daganev say he was a suicide bomber? Is that normal? Is there always one bad guy? Is there always a doctor? (I read about that somewhere...) Or does the person running the game decide those things?

In all games I've been there has been policemen (people who can check on others at night) and doctors (people who can protect others). In most of them there were also assassins of one kind or other (people who can kill others at night). All of them with tweaks that make them different (like a doctor who can only protect X number of victims or a policemen who receives random results).

Never seen a role like Daganev's, must admit. Saw one that was able to kill people during day but it was unclear and the game didn't finish I think.

The only roles that must be in every single game of Mafia are, of course, the townies and the Mafia. It is very rare not to have, say a cop or a doctor, but it happens.
