Hmph. I changed my mind again! ZOMG WHATA SHOCKER.
UNVOTE OKIN
I'll keep my unvote until I can get Anae to vote for Saran. There. Problem solved. This way, we have three votes hanging around and no win conditions are immediately brought into view.

I don't believe you can do that, the second a person has all the votes they need to be lynched they die and the day ends
Okin2007-07-02 05:45:28
Okin2007-07-02 05:47:00
Yeah, you can't do that, Bali. I'm lynched, day's over.

The day ends with the last vote required to lynch someone is cast, otherwise it would be possible for someone to full-fill the requirements to be lynched and saved simply because requiem wasn't available to say the day has ended
Unknown2007-07-02 06:49:49
It's true. Once you hit a majority it's instantly game over. The time between the lynch and the moderator's notice is usually referred to as twilight (or atleast, we do that here.)
Okin was Agent Sully Booth turned Angelus (scum). Game over, town wins.
I'll be posting the set up shortly.

1--(Doctor/Cop) Dr. Gregory House House M.D.: Underneath your gruff exterior you really do care about your patients. Just kidding, you couldn't care less. On the other hand, the puzzle of disease fascinates you, and the job comes with those handy little minions to verbally abuse. Plus, it pays for your Vicoden habit. What's not to like?
Each night you can either apply your team and your brain to curing the sick and injured thus preventing a death, or you can send your team to investigate your patient's house looking for clues to their lifestyle. In layman's terms, you can either try to prevent a death at night, or you can investigate a person and discover who they are.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
2--(Unstable one) Georgia "George" Lass Dead Like Me: The newly conscripted Grim Reaper, you're still slightly questionable about how the whole system works. Every night you receive a note with a name. This is the person whose soul you're supposed to "pop" from their body. However, if that person misses their appointment, then it simply gets rescheduled. But you wouldn't know anything about why he was late. Right?
After the mafia chooses a victim, I'll tell you who it is. If you wish, you can choose not to have that person killed. Just be aware that there is a reason the system works the way it does.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized.
KILLS: Brennan and House
3--(Medical Examiner/Social Networker) Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan Bones: The socially inept but mentally brilliant forensic anthropolgist from the Jeffersonian Institute, you frequently work with the FBI to identify corpses and their killers. Despite your frequent distractions, you are still an anthropologist. You are familiar with the workings of societies at large, including the internetworking of various archetypes.
Over the course of your work with the FBI you've forged a rather strong bond of trust in your partner Booth (Okin.) You two may communicate at night.
Each night you may study one person and determine the people that might be intricately tied to their lives, or possibly even their non-deaths.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
KILLS: Booth and George.
4--(Kidnap Protection/Rescuer) Seely Booth Bones: Bones' (playername) partner from the FBI, you two have developed an innate trust in each other. You may communicate at night. You also have the ability to stop certain bad things from happening to people. You're not a doctor, but sometimes it doesn't come to that. You can also track people down when they need help.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
NOTE: If killed other than by Sylar-eating, turns into Angel vanilla Mafia member. Immune to kidnapping.
5--(Sponge) Peter Petrelli Heroes: It is your destiny to destroy the world. To stop this from happening you have a missive. "Save the cheerleader, save the world." However, before you can find the cheerleader, you have to pick up some nifty abilities.
As you approach a target, you are able to passive assume whatever ability they possess. Each night you may select a target to draw power from, a number (some people have more than one ability. I'll modulate the number to fit within the number of options), and a victim.
You when once the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
KILLS:
6--(Governor) MacKenzie Allen Commander in Chief: You are the third-party female vice-president that ended up Commander in Chief. This gives you the ability to issue a Stay of Execution. At one time during the day you can simply say, in bold I hereby issue a Stay of Execution. This will end the day immediately in a no lynch. Unfortunately, your show wasn't that good so you only have the political capital to do this once.
You win once the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
MODNOTE: Your vote also counts as double. (So it can still be zeroed out.)
7--(Plague killer) Nurse Olivia Harper Grey's Anatomy: As if it wasn't enough that you gave the entire staff of Seattle Grace syphilis, now you're a veritable Typhoid Mary. You have this little bottle that will infect you with a deadly disease. You may choose to visit one person after having consumed your toxins. Anyone who interacts with this person that night also contracts the disease, and will communicate it to anyone else with whom they interact. Your chances of surving this outbreak are next to none.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
KILLS: No one. Isn't killed by anyone either.
8--(Doctory) Dr. Miranda Bailey Grey's Anatomy: The take-charge no-nonsense resident surgeon in charge of the interns at Seattle Grace, you care deeply for the sick and wounded. Each night you may select a potential patient to watch over and protect him or her from dying in the night.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
9--(Night talker) Sydney Bristow ALIAS: You are the woman of a thousand hair styles but a remarkably distinctive face. Somehow you manage to circumvent this handicap and no one ever recognizes you. Your task is usually to gather information, but in the end you always kill people.
This time around you're going to be a little more restrained. Using your ability to blend in, you may talk to different groups each night. You may select one person every night with whom you are allowed to converse. Tell me who you're choosing and I'll PM that person to let him know that he has permission to talk. You can say whatever you like, but you may only speak to one person each night.
10--(Townie) Ensign Expendable Star Trek: "You have no name. You wear red. You're expendable." Fortunately, you know that (Anae) is also as likely to die as you are. You may communicate with each other at night.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
11--(Townie) Ensign Anonymous Star Trek: "You have no name. You wear red. You're expendable." Fortunately, you know that (B_a_l_i) is also as likely to die as you are. You may communicate with each other at night.
You win when the town is no longer terrorized by evil.
3 Mafia------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--(Mafia/Perma-sponge) Gabriel "Sylar" Gray Heroes: You've always had a touch of hubris. Now you're moving from rival superhumans, to rival TV stars. Each night you and your strange bed-partner Alma Hodge (Shayle) decide whom you wish to kill.
You also have a more sinister twist. If you two manage to get a victim helpless and under your control, you can remove her brain and steal her ability. Assimilating the new abilities takes a while, so if you choose to do this you don't get a normal kill.
If Alma kidnaps you a victim, you can lop off his head and steal his ability.
You win once a win condition is no longer possible for the town.
NOTE: You can also fake your death one time during the day, which ends that day and prevents an actual lynch. You'll have to PM me and I'll stop the day with your death. I can't promise this'll happen before a real lynch if I'm not available, so be wary about cutting it too close.
--(Mafia/Kidnapper) Alma Hodge Desperate Housewives: You're into the whole living-but-captive thing, right? If they can't love you, drug 'em 'til they do. At your discretion you can opt to make a mafia killing into a mafia kidnapping. There are advantages and disadvantages to this, but kidnapped victim's count as dead for the purposes of Mafia/Town win condition.
You win once you have reduced the number of non-mafia players to equal the number of active mafia members.
--(Voteblocker) Chad Shelton Day Break: You don't know exactly who you're working for nor do you see the bigger picture, but the loss of your girlfriend has made you bitter and you're willing to help overthrow the system out of spite.
Each night you select a victim to wrap in obfuscation. That person's vote doesn't count during the day. You win with the mafia, but are not one of them and do not know who they are. They don't know who you are either, but you can't die to them at night.
You also don't count as Mafia for the Mafia/Town ratio, so you can always try to sacrifice yourself to protect your mysterious handlers.
You win once the number of non-mafia players has been reduced to equal the number of active mafia members.
NOTE: Can be kidnapped, but not Sylar-eaten. Doesn't count as Mafia for win conditions.

Thanks! I did try.
It was so close, for so long. There were at least five times I thought it was over and I was a sure-lynch. Everything I said about Amarysse-masonry-tracking etc was true - except I was killed on the first night, collapsed into undeath, and was promptly made scum. I was sure I was dead this last night (when I killed Othero - a random choice!) because I didn't count on appearing as my previous role to an investigator.

Notes of further interest.
The reason I wasn't posting votecounts was because I didn't want it to be obvious who was voting double, and whose vote had been nullified.
If George chose to save any, then specific other people would die. The names after the ----s are the people that would die, chosen randomly by Random.org
When House investigated, he got the text of the PM I sent when assigning the roles. Thus the reason Okin ended up looking innocent.
When Alma kidnapped people, the weren't actually dead. Booth would have been able to try to help them, thus bringing them back into the game. It also had the added benefit of not leaving a corpse, thus not revealing the role (which was a plus for the mafia).
Bones was able to see who would have died if George had saved them. I figured it would be largely useless, except for a few scenarios, but they all involved a long game, thus requiring that Olivia not mass-destruct everyone.
I used "whom" instead of "who" in Sylar's role info.
The MODNOTEs weren't sent to the players, but Sylar's NOTE was. I'm not sure why I didn't reword that when I was adding flavor.
The two ensigns were intentionally vague, but apparently more than I meant to be. I was just leaving the possibility open that they weren't necessarily both town. It seems that I might have been more confusing than I meant to be.
Chad's character only vaguely fits with the role I gave him, but you'd have to have seen the show first for it to even make some sense.
I didn't post the roles with the alignment because half of the stuff didn't condense well into anything that you guys would recognize from experience, and I didn't post the name for abduction victims for the obvious reason that they could in theory return.
Oh, and Olivia worked by infecting someone. Any who used a night role on either one was "infected," anyone who used a power on and infected person was likewise infected and in turn infected anyone else. All of the infected people died at the end of the Night.

Let's see,
Night 1:
Saran investigates Anae
Ytraelux mimics Shiri (sex fiend) on Daganev
Diamondais voteblocks Daganev
Daganev/Shayle kidnap Amarysse
Amarysse studies Anae
Quidgyboo talks to Daganev
Shiri toxifies Okin
Shiri, Daganev, Quidgyboo, Okin, Diamondais all die.
I tell Shadow, who says
Night 2:
Everyone's dead, so
Shayle/Okin kill Shadow
I tell Shadow she's dying (and karma's a bitch.)
Saran investigates Bali
but since I forgot to send the PM text from Anae, we manage to confuse the issue to the point where he thinks he can now talk to Anae but still hasn't gotten the results of Bali's investigation. That's what that was about during Day 3.
Night 3:
Saran investigates Okin, receiving the original Booth role.
Okin kills Othero, believing that he'll die the next day (which he did, but he almost didn't.)
My original goal, was that I wanted one player that could wreak mass havoc, but that would have good reason no to do so. Of course, when Shiri attacked Okin it wouldn't have done anything besides kill the two of them, but then Ytraelux mimicked him. I considered making a mid-game change and just having nothing happen (since no one would have known) but I figured that I might as well go for it. Thus, lots and lots of dead people.
That's why I was looking for more than normal. Plus, this way guaranteed at least one scum surviving, as long as Okin wasn't killed before Olivia went off.
Oh, Olivia's the other character I had to stretch a lot to make fit the role. I originally planned on also posting something like "And you sense that there are three other people from your show" but I ended up using enough different shows that no one had more than 2 (maybe 3) so it made no sense.
If there's anything else I'm forgetting, please remind me.
Edit: Oh, and I know that Angelus is bad/Angel's good. I think when I sent it to Okin I said Angelus, that was just a place holder because I wanted to see if Angelus had a last name (I couldn't find one.)

So, all in all I think it turned out fairly well for the people that survived. I know I killed a lot of people up front, but 3-4 days seems to be the limit for games here. Any longer than that and they just fade away.
Feedback? I know Bali liked it. Anyone else have comments?
Edit: Last note, I didn't post the roles with the alignment because half of the stuff didn't condense well into anything that you guys would recognize from experience, and I didn't post the name for abduction victims for the obvious reason that they could in theory return. I also added the Olivia explanation to the Notes post.
Oh, and I still really, really sorry you got killed, Quidgy.
