Having said that, I don't think Shiri's careless use of the past-tense is spectacularly scummy. He was talking about previous games, so he used the past tense.



As opposed to other past games where he -hasn't- been innocent is how I took it. The bracketed comment is there to make clear that innocent people bandwagon on the first day in general, he's not just talking about himself.

Daganev is looking suspicious but he ALWAYS looks suspicious. In my last game I caught myself thinking he was scum when I knew the only scums in the party were my team.

But... If last time he was innocent maybe this time he's guilty! Then... Quid speaks funny so maybe I shouldn't remove my vote from him?

I'm going to Unvote: Shiri, Vote: Daganev. I'm not sure if Daganev isn't making sense for whatever reason makes him usually not make sense, or if it's because he's making roundabout, vague arguments because he's scum. So because helping lynch a potential scum is better than sitting there with a random vote, I'm voting for Daganev.

Shiri, I don't understand how having a random vote with no information helps us? Can you explain that?

I thought that since we have less info than the scum have, and there are more townies than scum, that puts us at a clear disadvantage. (i.e., on a random vote, odds are a scum will not get lynched) The only way to undo that disadvantage is with collective knowledge.

I'm willing to follow whichever strategy makes most sense.

You see, although we don't have -much- information day one, we do have some information. And that information is people's voting habits.

To me, being stubborn about your vote means that you are not concerned or scared about accidentally lynching a cop or a doctor or some other very important role. And that seems scummy to me. We have people's voting habits during day one, and their posting habits. Why not use that information to get a non random vote?

Umm, random votes on Day One are how we get information. Sticking to a particular vote on Day One, a few RL days into a game, is not scummy. You just crossed some internal sense-demanding line.

I've run a game on here where I think day 1 lasted for around 10 pages of posts. I don't like it when the start lasts that long but it happens.

Anywho, I see where daganev is coming from but I really think it's a matter of clutching at straws on day 1. You might find some useful information to use, you might not, but in the end you're making a guess and you'll probably make the wrong one.

A roleclaim is where a person about to be lynched tells everybody who they are.
