I was reading through that thread and I just want to say, I still prefer night starts as a player. Although now I would argue that it's more for the concrete information gained via the cop.
Just saying.
Just saying.
Iridiel2007-06-08 13:53:50
But the cop also doesn't have much idea on who to investigate, and what is worse, we cannot trust anybody who claims to be a cop because we lack data about it.
Shiri2007-06-08 13:59:40
I don't think it matters if we can trust the cop or not. In theory having someone on the town side able to help choose direction in competition to the scum is beneficial, they don't have to out themselves as a cop in order to do so.

I'm keeping my vote on Daganev right now. He leapt at Quid's throat a little, essentially saying "OMG You didn't post anything when you were drunk! You must be scum!" which was a little... odd.
Other than that, I don't have much to say. I rarely do. :/

I'm starting to get a vibe from you, that just don't like the way I write on forums.
Anyway, I was not leeping at at Quid, nor did I even vote for him. I was simply pointing out that he said he was going to say something, but then never did. I found that odd.
He claims he was drunk, how am I supposed to know if thats true or not? (in this case, at this point, I believe him)
But if every time I said something I later regretted, I don't think it would help me to just say "Oh oops, didn't know I said that, I was drunk." I don't think its "leaping" to ask summon to finish the thoughts they started.
Shiri, I see what you are saying now. All I can say is that every game I vote for reasons that seem to be illogical to other people. As the last game proved to me, I need to go with my gut more and with given information less. (i.e. The game told me that Iridiel was Not Scum, but I had a strong feeling that she was) My Gut seems able to sense when people are not looking out for the best intrests of the team/town better than my mind can logically deduce from stated information what is true and what isn't.
But thats just me. Also, if you know I'm talking crazy (from your point of view) why be so defensive about it, why not just dismiss it?
Shiri2007-06-08 15:52:56
Because you're voting me (I think? Maybe you're not) and suggesting I'm acting scummy. It isn't true, and the way you were pushing it indicates to me that you're deliberately doing something illogical, which...seems scummy to me. Your last post kind of throws me off but that could be the intent.
Anyways, it's almost 5PM here, I should've been asleep an hour ago, so I'll read it again when I'm less tired.

Daganev, what convoluted reasoning convinces you that or some reason Quidgyboo would lie and say he was drunk? Why not just say nothing at all?

Hear hear! The only person I suspect is acting scummy is Daganev, with his long convoluted posts trying to reason his way out of being lynchned like he rightfully should be. Could we get a vote tally? It's hard to keep track without having to go through every fuggin post in the thread.
Daganev2007-06-08 20:47:29
@Shiri, I havn't voted for you, I also only wrote one post with your name in it, also mentioning Shamarah in it the same way. Shamarah doesn't seem so defensive about it. I havn't pushed anything. You seem to be pushing people to vote for me however.
@ytrealux: I can think of many reasons. Mainly, to not look like a lurker while still lurking.
@bali: If I'm doing what I should be doing, why is that scummy?
I'm still voting for Okin for the reasons I stated earlier.
However, we should probably start putting some other people under the spotlike. Like Anae perhaps.

Edit: That is, other people who are not being part of this conversation currently, such as Anae.

We are talking about what we think the best strategies are for the town to win, and the best ways to decipher who is scummy.

Is there any effective way to do that on the first day?
Unknown2007-06-08 22:34:10
I don't think so. Try and sniff out a scum and lower there ranks?

Its hard to catch people in a lie if they don't say anything. *shrug*

I guess that's just my mistake then. Sorry!

Modprodding three people who haven't posted in a while. Start talking more or I'll impose a deadline.
Unknown2007-06-10 11:38:50
Ok so I'm thinking Bali and Shiri are up there on my scum lists. Bali for the fact that he is giving off a few newb scum tells and Shiri because I've noticed that he acts in a sort of overly defensive way on the first day each time when he is scum. I'd be happy to lynch either now. I'll probably get targeted tonight for these votes so it might be nice if I get some protection for it. I usually die first day during games though since lynching the mod is a popular strategy .
Shiri2007-06-10 11:46:26
Grrr, freakin' forums ate my post.
Summary: *peer Quidgyboo* What are you talking about, having noticed that?
I'll have to go back and read Bali's stuff again since I was concentrating more on Daganev's, but if anyone has a less sketchy roleclaim during later days I'll probably be back to worrying about that.

Generally on the first day you're pretty easy going but I've noticed over a few games that if you're scum you become paranoid during the first day . That's my impression anyway.
