You should find Rheum in game. I haven't been playing as much lately, so you'll have to look hard.
Rheum had this thing for a long time where he would take merians, kill them, cut out their hearts, and then try to purify them in a whole bunch of different ways. It start in the Pool of Stars, which needless to say resulted in getting kicked out. Together, we could take over the world *cough* Rather, we could try to purify your little merian friend. That's what daggers are for, after all.

Sounds like good times all around! I'll try and find you sometime soon.

Going crazy is not easy when your guildmates tell you that you're dangerous because you've "brought a spy into the guild." I really don't think I'll be able to keep this up...I don't like the way Ongaku's being treated by the Geomancers because of it. I just can't do anything "Brilliant" like thinking I'm a bunch of people all it once like Ixchilgal, and if I DID, then people would say I was copying him. I can't win.
Nariah2007-06-03 03:56:55
Ixchi isn't thinking he is a bunch of people... he IS a bunch of people. Ask him about the origins!
And I love the merian spy, don't drop it! Best RP is when people react and they did so be happy it's not being ignored. Now just think up ways of keeping the Merian out of the Guild Hall. Like... drawing a runic sign before you enter the Guild each time to keep him away or such.
And, you know, some things just float up after a while RP wise, via interactions with others, so maybe great ideas are still before you. For example, I pride myself in developing a cookie-phobia in one of the Geomancers You could have a fishcake obsession and believe that eating them will ward off the merian, so each time you sense him close - practice gluttony!

Meh, good point. I'll come up with a way for Ongaku to keep his hallucination out of the guildhall.
Shishi2007-06-03 05:57:35
somehow that eating fishcake thing put this in my mind
From the point of view of the geomancer
sees the merian stalker
screams, "He's back! He's back!
gives merian fishcakes to everyone
says, "Eat everyone, Eat! It will scare him away!"
eats a few himself
looks at merian stalker, who is of course smiling amusedly
screams, "It's not working!
gradually degenerates into more madness...
and that's my, I'm bored and tired and shouldn't be posting right now, post of the night

That's funny. I wanna see how that would play out
Reiha2007-06-03 13:23:17
Why is Rheum still single? He told Reiha he'd be married by now. >:(
Nerra2007-06-03 14:02:30
You recall that Yrael told you:
"Would you like some tea? It's poisoned, as I am put out with you for forcing me
to walk, but tea?"
This was after telling him were a city mate's body I killed was. I got a good kick out of it. Basically, we were discussing death and things, then he invites me to tea. That's insanity that's fun if you can keep it constant and it won't interfere much with your behaviour. Also, you could look up paranoid and disorganized schizophrenia. A mild version of that could be very fun. It includes facial ticks, incoherent muttering, speaking, and shouting, and the belief that "they" are out to get you!

I'm planning on having Ongaku actually become friends with his little hallucination. Shishi, I love your little fishcakes scene too. And yes, that tea line is really funny. Unfortunately, it's not something I would be witty enough to think up.

That's not Yrael roleplaying insanity. That's just Yrael being Yrael.
ongaku2007-06-03 18:21:31
I just had some really fun RP with Rheum. Thank you, requiem!
Unknown2007-06-03 18:37:05

Yeah. I have a bad habit of finding something that makes me giggle and using it for a few days/weeks, then moving onto something else. It usually seems to translate as insanity, though.
Neat.
ongaku2007-06-05 15:56:52
Well, it looks like the RP has to end as soon as it started. Ongaku's little hallucination apparently poses a security risk. Meh, I don't think I could keep it up anyway. was fun while it lasted though

I'm confused... how is a hallucination your character was having a security risk? I mean, it's not like there really WAS an aquamancer following you around. You were just seeing one, right?

Right, but it would seem not everyone GETS THAT. I've been told by numerous geomancers that my little "Merian friend" is a security risk, even though it's ME playing the Merian! it's extremely frustrating, to the point where I actually told Hallen in game (OOCly of course) that this was just RP and there isn't ACTUALLY some merian guy stalking me.
Unknown2007-06-05 17:00:28
Pretty sure everyone's response has been because of the roleplay. I don't know about the others, but I got that this is RP and I'm just trying to respond in kind, without immediately passing it off as insanity on Ongaku's part. I would like to see him continue it, and just think he needs to work on it a little to make it not get him in trouble.
As to why it was considered a security risk, he a did a brief thing where the merian possessed him, and since that's actually doable in Dreamweaving we were warning him to only sleep in safe places so that the merian doesn't cause him to do things that would be bad for security (letting him into the guildhall or something).

Maybe have an argument with him in front of other people, and act confused when no one else can see him? That way folks can 'see' that there's not really someone there AND your insanity is firmly established. Might help if you had other hallucinations too. Folks who hallucinate don't usually only hallucinate one thing.
You could be like that mathimatician guy from A Beatuiful Mind.
Or something.

And Ixchilgal tried to kill me. I don't think a dreamweaver would actually possess me in order to RP unless I asked them to, which is to say I'm not going to be asking any dreamweavers to take over Ongaku's body for roleplaying purposes.

I have argued with "him" in front of others and had Ongaku wonder why they can't see him. I'm working on other hallucinations as well, perhaps of really girly, frilly things trying to take over.

Well, to be fair, their characters wouldn't know that, or think of it that way. Unless you can make it more obvious that you really are hallucinating, of course.
eta: Of course, RL history is full of folks who're killed for being crazy, so they might just take that route anyway.
