True, but still, it was frustrating. I think after saying to Hallen "Maybe I really am goin' crazy," he kind of got the message (though I did go ahead and spell it out for him OOCly as well). I also realize not everyone reads these forums, I'm just trying to figure out how I can work this out without having to send individual OOC tells to EVERY SINGLE GEOMANCER that I'm RPing being followed around and possessed by this hallucination.

So what if you're a security risk in their minds, I think the Geomancer guild leaders would be smart enough not to take how they deal with you too far to be unfair to you. But they would respond as they are in a manner that makes sense and adds to the RP. I have a feeling if you continue with the RP carefully and even let the hallucinations grow and become more broad as suggested it'll eventually fit into the characters RP and with the guild where they'll just pass it off as you being nuts. Though I'd suggest staying away from anything else like a paladin following you as then when there really is an issue they might not know to take you seriously OOCly or IC.


But I really think that sort of hallucination/RP should expect those sort of responses at first and it shouldn't be taken as in you shouldn't do it as a player or them trying to get you to stop. or having an issue with your RP. The trick is going to be to maintain effectiveness as a Guild member. As thinking there's a merian following you around all the time can be conceived as a huge downfall to your ability to serve and protect the guild and Magnagora.

Nuts is such a foul word. The politically correct term would be "mentally uninhabited".

my favorite rp is insanity.. sometime insanity make you think someone cheat on you by steal your husband.. and you sent a tell to someone to blame on them when they actually have done nothing at all.

I recall Hyrtakos sent me a tell by blaming on me for stealing his lady(even though i am female myself).

If you have to keep telling people oocly what exactly you are roleplaying, something's wrong.

The best RP has rather extreme consequences. Disciples of Crow, anyone? Lusternia hasn't had anything cooler since then.

I'd take the deaths in stride. All you lose are numbers in a game. I wouldn't even send OOC tells. Let people figure it out, even if it comes at great expense to your character, or you believe that said expense would make your character stop hallucinating.

(Although, as a matter of my own pet peeves, be sure you can explain why herb cures, the healing skillset, and critique in arts won't heal you.)

My problem with dying is that I"m going to start working on Titan/Demigod soon. I'll probably just keep my RP extremely low-profile while I'm working on that though...

In my defense, having just noticed this thread, I began to write that book on torture during a sadistic phase when I burntout on being an undersecretary.

Jigan's case is that he has five voices. Jigan is the primary with others lending support. Nagij is the most often used, being a secretary like person who does what needs done, without thinking of the politically correct ramifications.

Yar, just felt like I had to defend myself a bit.

Edit: I try to pull Jigan off as a mad-doctor type of person. Ask Elostian or Terentia. He's had a few off the wall ideas. If you want to, just take a minor quirk and slowly expand on it and build it in. Over time, it will develop into something else for you.

Jigan started twitching a lot and commenting on voices giving him ideas. I turned that into something where he speaks with the voices, switches between one or two of them and speaks in another method with them.

And it doesn't have to be full blown insanity. Maybe something that's more spread out but not as bad. You could babble incoherently about a merian stalker. Or, you could be convinced that potatoes seek your life blood and don't go near them. Soap is bad for you, because the scent gets into your nose and tries to eat into your brain. And that people who sniff cheese are not to be trusted. Sometimes the most insane things have decent, if twitchy, logic behind them. At least from one view.

Edit Two: If you prefer the full blown insanity, feel free to mess with people. By mess around, I mean allow them to think that you are really sane, but are acting. Or that you are not as insane as people think you are. And so on. Pulls strings to get people to argue about that fact and in the middle of a public dispute about your sanity mention potatoes, spheres, and the possibliity of using the potatoes to power a sphere of magic enhanced by geometry and geomancy that protects the city from large bumblebees.

I'm not asking Terentia anything about you. After a particularly frustrating Novice, I mentioned over GTS I felt I was invoking the Spirit of Sir Jigan (meaning ready to snap and kill Novices, or find ways to torture them).

Terentia then commented that she was going to have to kill a Paladin. She thought I meant I was going to do some of your crazier antics and experiments, like with the pool or rifts and so on.

It took some fast back peddling to survive that.
