The same quest exists for Celestia and Nil. Raziela gives you a lock of her hair, and Gorgulu gives you something.

Shackles, I think.

It ain't Gorgy you get the shackles from, its Nif.

And if you didn't know about cities being able to do this in the first place you've really been missing out. I grabbed these from the Funnies thread where they were originally posted because they're just funny enough to post again.

You smile brightly at a brownie, remarking on him what great friends the two of
you are.
A brownie wraps an arm around you, declaring you to be the truest of friends.
A brownie gazes longingly at a lock of hair in your hands, then finally jumps
into your arms.
A brownie says, "Well... fine. If you insist. You promise Raziela's nice, right?
She won't try to molest me or anything, will she?"

Ooohing and ahhhing, you make a great fuss over a sprite's choice of hair style,
clothes, and good looks.
A sprite wraps an arm around you, declaring you to be the truest of friends.
You bind a sprite wrists in shackles, locking them tightly.
A sprite says, "Crap. This definitely won't be one of those happy endings."

Those are hilarious.

While I agree that the length of time it takes to sway them is tedious, it's a better situation than having a non-enemied individual seduce most of the angels/demons and set them on defenders while others raid. I've always seen it more as an effort made for the city, rather than a viable means of earning experience and esteem, though I wouldn't object if the defensive constructs for Celestia and Nil gave a small increase in experience for influencing the plane's denizens.

They're intimidating. No seduction possible - and that really shouldn't be changed.

And sure - it's an effort for the city. That's why I do it now.

Influencing is what needs more work, not the angels or demons specifically. Changing them is one way to improve influencing, not the only way or necessarily the best way.

This is exactly what I was saying: that it's better for them to remain immune to seduction and take effort to empower, than it is for them to be changed to 'brave souls', which would make them vulnerable to empowerment, but would also invite them being turned against defenders.

As for influencing, it's lacking at the higher levels, granted, but there needs to be some offset to the minimal risk and expenditure. This isn't to say that I'm opposed to the influencing skillset receiving some attention, but I wouldn't consider it a priority.

Oh. No, I was not recommending that they be brave souls... just harder, for more reward. As far as I know, there's a general strength factor (or several) which covers amount of influencing necessary and ego damage done in return, and then there are weaknesses or immunities to specific influencing styles, depending on temperament. The temperament is right; the strength factor could be tweaked and rewards tweaked along with it. There's an observed soft cap on influencing speed here at 8 attacks, so with the right risk/reward you might get an ecosystem of sorts. New players go for Cherubs, Demigods go for Supernals (if they changed to permit that), everyone else sorts themselves out somewhere in between.

Boosting the difficulty and rewards from certain targets would help for a certain range, but for those up above 90 it'll be hard for anything to compete with criticals. Not really sure how to bring in really high-level influencing without adding some kind of risk; not sure how to do that without tweaking the influence system as a whole. But that's another topic, which I may write up.

On priorities... sure. But, as the Admins showed so dramatically last month, parallel development is real. No harm in mentioning this, and getting on with enjoying all that is out there now.
