Naked mole rat!
...What?
...What?
Rofl, that'd be a good one.
Gwylifar2007-06-12 15:53:30
I think we had one of those in Serenwilde once for like a day.
Vionne2007-06-12 18:07:58
I'm 99% sure that the gravediggers in the Blasted Lands are modeled off of naked mole rats. I wanted to do an experiment with them, but Elostian didn't want animals running around his Cathedral making a mess .
Genos2007-06-13 00:26:47
I used to have a Porcupine furrikin alt if that counts? I wish I would have saved the description.

Someone needs to make a hamster Furrikin...

I changedself into a green hamster furrikin a few times.

I saw a beaver-kin running around the Wilde once:
I think his name was Doug, but if it was, the character is gone now.
Reminds me of this.
QUOTE
He is a bouncing furrikin and stands at about three feet in height. His body is covered in a thick pelt in varying shades of brown, darker towards his paws and face. His most noticable feature is the wide, leathery tail that drags behind him, occasionally slapping loudly on the ground. Dominating his long face is a pair of immense, bright orange teeth. A strong musky odor emanates from his fur.
I think his name was Doug, but if it was, the character is gone now.

We need an aardvark furrikin!

We need a biology lab.
Also, ever thought about cetacean furrikin? Whales? Dolphins? How about manatee? Dugong? Seal? ... Aardwolf, Marten, Otter, Civet, Linsang, Fossa, Falanouc, Tarsier, Tenrec, Hyrax, Lemur, Pika, Tapir, Tayra, Grison, Wolverine...
I'd like to see a kangaroo rat, personally.

Back in the earliest days, wasn't Mary the Zoologist doing stuff like that?
ongaku2007-06-17 05:09:06
I don't know if Cetacean furrikins would work...I mean, they would have to be pulled around in a tank of water...I guess you could try though if you really wanted. Then again, I don't think Bollikin splintered into sea mammals.

It's bound to happen to one of the young Serenwilders. An aardwolf. Someone will do it.

Cetaceans are not fish. They breathe by surfacing and using their blowholes.
Besides which, Merians exist, don't they?
How do you explain them being out of the water for extended periods of time?
(Meleris' scales are literally so dried off that it's lucidian-like in description.)
Auraria2007-06-17 12:46:49
Would a bat furrikin work? Also: shrews, voles, mice, gophers, kinkajous, ferrets, and marmots.
EDIT: And coatis.

I know they're not fish, sheesh, but they still need water. I suppose though it would work, seeing as Merians can stay out of water. All right, I'll buy a cetacean furrikin.
Auraria, a bat furri would be so cute!

I thought she just keeped herself busy tending to the Ebonglom Wyrm. I think she was under the impression that the poor guy was quite depressed. But anyways, yeah - Mary did that sort of thing.
I wonder if we could have a marine rockeater furrikin.

Bat furrikin FTW! But you'd have to either be really fat or have damaged wings to explain why you can't fly.
There was a guy in the very early days who was a Salamndastron Long Patrol Hare (Redwall anyone?) but I've forgotten his name. And just in case anyone's forgotten Tomtom Hardshell, the Estelbar jeweler is a tortoise furrikin.
And I dunno if I count, but me and my imaginary ancestors, the Brushfire family, are approximately half-loboshigaru, half-furrikin and 100% badger.

Ohhhh I remember that guy! It was T-something. He was in the order with me but since it got destroyed and remade I can't find his name in it anymore.
