I am a Aslaran soon to be Axelord. I am not sure what would be good stats for a greataxe I know max percision would be best but should I lean more towards damage then speed since I have the increased Aslaran balance?

Posting ideal stats would help alot.
vorld2007-06-15 03:15:46
xx/480/160+ stats are what I'm going for
Unknown2007-06-15 15:29:51
I have a something like a 184/497/179 greataxe for sale in Attai. That would be average damage, very good precision and good speed.

You might find this helpful for figuring out 'ideal' stats. Also keep in mind that stuff with above 463 total stats can not be runed, and it takes alot of time usually to get something above 490.

If you're an Aslaran not going to rune it, go for at least 180/500/160. MrShrimp's axe looks good.

Here's my current great axe stats

Damage: 230 Precision: 468 Speed: 152

It takes a while and/or it's expensive, I know, but you need better precision. :P
vorld2007-06-15 23:04:02
yeah I think I did forge one with 480 or something don't remeber what the others stats were.
Theomar2007-06-16 00:32:27
172/501/194 greataxe ftw.

I just wish I could rune it without gimping the damage.
vorld2007-06-16 00:36:21
I reforged it and I got this
184 Precision: 509 Speed: 158
Edit: got to get rid of some damage in order to forge it
Unknown2007-06-16 00:56:10
Looks good.

You won't reach the speed limit with a greataxe, so I'd say you go for speed rather than damage. It's better to have a weapon that attacks 20% faster than to have one which deals 20% more damage in each strike - your damage-per-second is the same in both cases, but your wounding-per-second is higher in the first case.
Theomar2007-06-16 20:32:45
Course, if you have the money you should get a max-speed master klangaxe for bashing.

It's a very good axe!

So judging by this thread most axelords prefer using a precision axe for PvP?

I was thinking more along the lines of a klangaxe with good precision and speed...
Unknown2007-06-22 22:43:20
Good precision and speed is only nice if you can out-pace their curing. If not, go for good damage and precision.

Depending on who you are and who you're fighting and whether or not they have Trans Resilience and/or high armor, you can go either way, really. For a "squishy" mage type character with no where close to Master Resilience, a high damage waraxe with good speed will make them hurt. For a warrior in fullplate with near Mythical Resilience, you will require the services of a high precision greataxe to puncture their armor and deal out the afflictions to keep their system busy and their body off balance. The only exception to the squishy-hard target rule are Kephera, who apparently have fullplate with that damnable lvl 3 resistance to both cutting and blunt damage. For them, you will need a greataxe, be they mage, druid, or warrior.

As for the klangaxe idea, I've thought about it and talked with several old combat vets and they've all been very skeptical about it. You'd be sacrificing a lot of precision for speed. I might try it though, just to test it.

Mine axes:
wp waraxe
Damage: 360 Precision: 297 Speed: 191

wp greataxe
Damage: 188 Precision: 494 Speed: 162

Max damage waraxe edging close to the klangaxe realm of speed stats, excellent for putting the whammy on squishy targets. Nigh max precision greataxe and nigh max speed excellent for wounding, and wounding fast.

Amazing waraxe.

It is a two-handed weapon.
Damage: 190 Precision: 503 Speed: 172
A warrior's iron greatsword has no poisons or magical effects on it.

Now if only my claymore didn't suck. :D

It is a two-handed weapon.
Damage: 360 Precision: 321 Speed: 145
A claymore of the black widow has the following poisons or magical effects on it:
1) senso

Hey, Ash, didn't you say you were going to reforge this? >_<

EDIT: Yeah, I know they're swords, but it's the same idea. I don't know why I didn't post them earlier.
