Why do you always bring up damage resistance whenever a topic goes even remotely near Hunting and Tracking?

Well since it was a listing of crappy useless skills , why not? What other secondary skillsets do you know of that have no resistances? Sacraments? Night? Moon? Atheletics? Acrobatics? Necromancy? Totems? Stag? Crow?

Uhh... sacraments, necromancy, and crow don't have resistances either (numen and putre don't count). And athletics and acrobatics aren't warrior tertiary skills.

Actually, sacraments and crow have resistances. Bad ones, but they're there.

How come numen (physical resitance) and putre (physical resistance) not allowed to count?? That's not playing fair Shammy!! :girl_werewolf.gif (had to do that it was a cute smilie)

Crow has Spiderweb paint (resitance to entanglements) and has crow cloak (resistance to poison)

Athletics and Acrobatics I threw in for fun smile.gif

Feed. Just ugh. What's the bloody point? Took me upwards of 25 to get from starving to the next level up of hunger.

Nobody in their right mind (that isn't a complete noob) hunts rats or weevils.

Noola hunts rats sometimes. It's relaxing and let's me think about things while still being available if someone needs Noola for something AND occasionally I like to try to see how much gold I can earn in an hour, just for fun.

Yeah, I'd probably do that too, but every hour = 4 karma, and its not worth it tongue.gif

Why have none of the Moondancers said moondance light (that I noticed) yet?

3 coven member power!

1-day room effect!

50 ego regen every 10 seconds!

Did it get changed or something and no-one noticed? blink.gif

Wildarrane, except Bardoon and PaleBeauty.

Hyperactive, Balancing, Barrelroll, Tripleflash, Forwardflip, and depending on whether it actually does anything, Elasticity.

Empathy, Rebirth, AnimalGrowth, Conceal.

PerfectFourth, Fugue. (I thought I'd found a use for it once, but I was wrong.)

FishCatch, Cluck, Rustle, SnakeCharm.

You obviously have no idea how much gold you can make rustling. Especially if you have a mount.
Furien2007-06-20 01:32:54
Worms may actually be useful. I think it makes people hungry fairly quickly.

Wildarrane, like most every other music spec. is useless on it's own. Selenelullaby does NOT get someone collapsing from exhaustion, it just makes them tired to a certain point (and no further).

Channels is fairly useless
Shiri2007-06-20 02:17:23
Channel isn't useless.
Unknown2007-06-20 02:24:41
What use do you have for it? I've just never found a use for it
Shiri2007-06-20 02:28:26
You haven't been treebaned much then. Some classes can instantl make you lose all your Fae so easily and wasting eq to get them back is horrible.

I used to think that bloodthirst in tracking was useless when it first came out, since you only have to be somewhat lucky to get the wolf to clamp enough to do more damage overall. However, people without clamp might find it useful right? I'm sure alot of skills would seem useless if you're a omnitrans, but until a person gets those really important skills maybe they'd be more useful in situations using 'useless' skills.

Cept invoke blue, nightsight and fishcatch(which only applies to trout, no live stinkfish to throw at people sad.gif). I don't know what's up with those.
Unknown2007-06-20 02:36:16
Ok, Channels may be a little less useful for Nihilists. One demon is a lot easier to get then a group of fae.

It realy doesn't. I've sat at the megalith with worms for about an hour before I noticed it.

Oh yeah I forgot about bloodthirst, Ok bloodthirst should do more damage, but here is how it works Mr. Shrimp. If you bloodthirst your hound, your hound will not clamp at all (from what I was told, through testing I had never gotten a single clamp while my hound was lusted so I asked an envoy they said you should not be able to clamp during lust, so that is how it was supposed to work). So basically you are sacrificing clamping for a very minor increase in damage/bleeding, and for your hound to not respond to your oders. With it off you are back to less damage but with a chance to clamp. I personally don't really use it much at all, since I really would rather land my opponent into some type of pit/dart/trap and have a chance of a clamp instead of a very minor, (think it is like additional 50-150 damage/bleeding. Whatever it was it is not supersignificant to lose a writhing affliction like clamp) increase in the attack.

Oh.

I remember last time Tael used it on me, it sent me straight to starving. sad.gif
Unknown2007-06-20 03:32:32
Uh I knew that already Ild. If it did clamp while bloodthirsted then it'd actually do more damage, but as it is clamp makes you writhe AND does more damage. But it comes before clamp, so people without clamp would have no reason not to use it right?

Edit: Sorry if I wasn't being clear in my original post, but yeah it's either clamp or bloodthirst. You can't have both.
Even more editing: Doh, just in case we're not clear, clamp does more damage because when you either get clamped or writhe out of clamp(not sure which) you gain alot of bleeding damage which even over time does more damage than bloodthirst.
