No. It wasn't at the time either, it was just easier.
I highly recommend Ace2 addons. Most addons have an Ace equivalent, and they have an updater program that will keep your programs up to date very easily, instead of having to download and reinstall them all the time.

Thanks!
What about suggested talent specs for a 60 human warlock? I've seen so much information, it's a bit tough to absorb it all. Too much has changed and I don't have enough information!

How do you want to play? Demonology, Affliction, and Destruction all have good specs, for PvP and for PvE.

GO DEMON! Or Desto. If you plan on doing PvP arenas after lvl 60, wait to go Desto at lvl 61'ish. Until then, go Demonology because you level faster. At lvl 50/53 depending on if you put the typical 3 points up for instant-cast affliction (can't remember the spell) in affliction tree (its the one on the far right of the affliction tree, first level'ish) you will get the felguard, which is pretty much a tank. At lvl 60, my felguard and I could easily tank by ourselves. dot, fear, dot, fear, dot, fear, ignite, ignite, fear, ignite, fear, death coil, dead. ^^ Unless its a warrior. Hate bloody warriors. And paladins. That stupid hammer thing really annoys the heck out of warlocks. And rogues. Hate rogues too...^^

Improved Corruption is five points. I really can't think of a reason to skip it except in the magelock destro builds, maybe.
Affliction is nice for leveling too, since you can just drain-tank things. Aff locks can pretty much end every fight at full health and mana. There was a video floating around on YouTube of an Affliction lock pretty soon after Burning Crusade simply chainpulling Hellfire Peninsula, killing three or four mobs at a time, for like 15 minutes straight. Did it with a pocket priest, but he claimed it was doable solo, just a bit slower.
Demonology makes you a hell of a lot tankier, and the felguard is quite nice. It's like having your own mini-warrior.
Destro I don't have nearly as much experience with (meaning, my friend hasn't really talked about it as much, and I don't hear nearly as much about it outside of gloating warlocks and angry mages bickering on the forums).

I am probably biased, but don't take Felguard. Other 41 point talents are so much better.
Also, from warlocks who need to L2P, the biggest percentage is Demonology based with felguard. Yes, they even go to PvP with felguard. Yes, even when fighting mages. No, not with the felhunter, felguard. See? You do not want to be associated with THEM.

Felguard isn't bad against mages, actually. It does a good bit of damage, can dodge aoe's, gets resistances if you've specced for it (and if you've got a felguard, I hope to god you specced Master Demonologist), and can interrupt spells with intercept.
If you know you're going to be facing a caster, of course you have your felhunter out, but felguard isn't a bad all-around pet. Though, yeah, it does seem to be the spec of choice for people who don't know what they're doing.

Destro is fun. Spec right and you're pretty much a mage. Just far sexier and without the water.
Plus, conflag is the best tasting spell ever.

I'd go affliction on the spot, if it wasn't for all the races I like not being able to be warlocks... sigh.
Here's a short list of locky races and why I don't like them.
Alliance
Humans - male look like retards, female look like bimbos and sound like retards.
Gnomes - I just don't like them! Stomp, stomp.
Horde
Orcs - too generic. I also don't like Durotar and the Barrens.
Undead - angsty and gothy. The most likely choice though.
Blood Elves - my hatred towards them deserves a fully dedicated post. They make great villains though - I like to kill them.

Alliance, go gnome or go home. Male, too. They dance!
Horde, go blood elves. If only because their racial abilities top WotF.

O.o Nuuu! I've played WSG several times and my felguard and I never died, save for a few times with a few freak accidents (Key word: Goblin land mines. -.-). Felhunter, though, is the choice if you're going to go up against a caster. However, the Demonology spec makes your felhunter stronger and also increases is stats, which in turn increases your stats.
But when I went destro spec for AV, it was the funniest game I've ever played. There was my character, Daenya, and five other destro specced locks in the game. (Five or four. I can't remember.) We rushed the Alliance stronghold, and whenever an ally got it into their heads to try and stop us from killing off their NPCs, we just shadowfuried as one single attack consecutively. I've never seen so many charbroiled gnomes.
And Yrael is completely right. (i'll never say that IC). Conflag is bloody awesome. ^^

Caster = felhunter.
Non-caster = you win anyway.
What I don't like about the felguard is that it limits your options. You can fire shadowbolts if you take Shadowfury. You can fear and curse with Unstable Affliction. But you can't summon another pet when you have the Felguard, nor can you summon the Felguard when you have some other demon out. And felguard isn't that much better than other pets... the felhunter for example. Or succubus.

I think the main bonus of having a felguard is that it's not the best pet for all situations, but it's not total crap in any of them, really. If you're going to just summon one demon and never switch, felguard is a pretty good choice. I'd take Unstable Affliction over it, though, definitely. And I've never really even thought about Destro. I've already got a mage, I don't need another.

Silly mage. DoTs are for Locks!

I've got trans Necromancy IC, I might as well indulge myself and pull this thread out of hte ground:
I'm a masochist. SO I'm downloading the trial, and am curious - are mages any bettern ow? Last I checked, they couldn't stand up to a decent Destro-lock. I mean, they were absoloutly pathetic. Their only hope was counterspelling your main damage source and trying to chew through your health. Just curious. Arcane/Fire is what I'd be playing, neither of the 41pt talents, focus on fire.
If not, I'll just go back to Warlock as Destro. Yrael likes burning things.

Mages are a decent class. Locks are still reasonably more powerful than other classes. I'm not saying overpowered - overpowered is what you have in Lusternia, WoW's class balance is far more... balanced. Anyway, what you should avoid are not Destro locks (they are relatively easy to beat), but Demonology. They're really tough to kill, mostly because of SS - it gets a nerf soon enough, at least I hope it does.
Fire/arcane is a bad combo for PvP. You'd want AT LEAST Ice Block in Frost, possibly Ice Barrier too.

Destro locks aren't easy to beat. Or, weren't when I tried the expansion pack. Keeping in mind I played Shadow Mastery/Demonic Sacrifice for the bulk of my time as a warlock (Gogo health regen), when I switched, I could burn anyone and everything in my path, barring the odd shadowpriest who managed to dump a heal in between my nukes. Compared to, say, anything that could dispel obliterating my offence. Anyway, ta. Felguard warlocks didn't fuss me, it was those bastards with felhunters.
Edit: Ugh, didn't realise DS had been nerfed from 4% to 2%. That makes the skill entirely useless. You just wouldn't regen enough health.

Except ice block is going to be trainable in the upcoming patch.
And Destro locks are a complete joke. If all you plan is doing battlegrounds and dueling people outside of your major city, then you're fine, but don't deserve any bragging rights. Real competition is in the arena, where (depending on your team) you're either UA spec or demo.
I've been playing arena since it came out, and NONE of the top tier teams represent a destro lock.

The bloody hell is "arena"? Something like Gurubashi? Or do you just grab a pack of people, form a team, and that's it?
Pity about SM/DS no longer being feasible (I mean, It was amazing when I re-specced how much less tanky I was. I couldn't even survive a warrior beating on me. Yeech.) sucks, but why are they a joke? Isn't the damage output still much, much higher than mages?
