Dwarf worth it for Axelord?

Well I am considering taking a break from Simimi, since I sit offline to work on my system anyway, and it seems impractical to use her to work on building the system with. I lost my alts in a purge I believe and I have never been a warrior. I love the idea of Axelord, because I want an axe that is as cartoon/acme and as ridiculously big as possible. Axelord seems to have it. I assume (though do not know so feel free to correct me) that all of the warriors bash pretty fairly the same.

So, is dwarf worth it for AL, or are there better racial choices?

I assume I will go Paladin as well, unless I am convinced otherwise, not sure if that would make a difference on race choice but I also assume it would in that maybe one race would be better as an ebon or ur'guard for a race+stat altering skill combo.

Anyway, have at it folks! Enlighten me!

If you are doing it for the RP, any race will do as long as it fits your idea of it.
Jack2007-07-09 00:19:26
RP, yeah, worth it. But dwarf is a pitiful race if you actually plan on making the leap to PVP and will be pretty substandard even for bashing.
Simimi2007-07-09 01:46:03
Well I plan on it for RP, but also to collect bashing lines or just for something different maybe. Although, everytime I try an alt I just go back to Mimi since she has all my skills.
Hazar2007-07-09 02:14:00
Go Serenguard and take Stag for your Totems spec, then use Swiftstripes.

That goes a long way to help dwarves not suck.
Krellan2007-07-09 02:30:20
hunting wise it won't matter with max speed. for a combat axe I'd say just sacrifice some damage stat for speed and get max wounding. best damage is done through elemental runes anyways (or so I think)
Simimi2007-07-09 14:12:10
Hm, thanks for everything, everyone!

Collect...bashing...lines? o_O

Are you saying that your balance level doesn't matter for warrior bashing? You're sadly mistaken, if that's what you meant.
Forren2007-07-09 15:28:32
Simimi - let me know if you want my current list of trigger lines. It's 95% complete.

I think you misunderstood. Balance level doesn't matter for warriors IF they can find weapons fast enough to allow them to reach the speed cap. A faeling at the speed cap will not go any faster than a dwarf at the speed cap. I don't know the actual numbers, so I'm not sure if a dwarf with max speed weapons can reach the speed cap, but if they can then Krellan is right - the balance won't matter for bashing.
Damadreas2007-07-09 15:39:37

Maybe a little biased here. But Ebonguard Night would seem to be the best bet for an Axelord irregardless of race. And doubly so if you're a dwarf, as choke won't make the crappiness go away, but it at the least makes the slowness in balance as a less annoying thing to a degree.

As for stag, I guess, but what I can tell not many truly serious fighters would go for swiftstripes due to the penalty to equilibrium.

Well, if humans can't, dwarves can't. I've heard that humans can't, and even if they can, it would only be as a Moon/Night user.

EDIT: Or with a stat runed bashing weapon (+10 or more speed), I suppose.

No.

Balance issue aside, 13 str for a warrior is pitiful.
Simimi2007-07-09 18:18:15
Thanks Cuber, I was thinking it was a bit low... All things aside, do the various warriors bash about the same?
Hazar2007-07-09 18:33:24
Seriously. Serenguard, Stag, Highmagic.

You get Bear, Flex, and Geburah for strength. Swiftstripes helps with speed and medicinebags helps make you even more tanky.
Simimi2007-07-09 18:36:17
But then I'd be in SEREN! D:

Just kidding... well I am deliberating on it now actually, I'm reading more about the SG and Seren at the moment.

But a long long time ago, I was an Ebon, and they GAVE me a FREE GreatAxe... what say you to THAT? HM?

It obviously wasn't enough to keep you...
Simimi2007-07-09 19:21:42
Well it would have been, but I had Simimi, in Celest... so... halo.gif

CORRECTION: gave me as my alt a GreatAxe

Geburah seems redundant there, isn't it?
+3 weight by flex,
+1 by bear
+ 1 by Geburath, isn't that still only +3?
Unknown2007-07-09 19:35:42
Flex is +2. Does it really weight as +3? I thought it was just an exception for bear+flex. :/
