Lusternia hasn't gotten the ability to look any closer than cells, so I think knowing about deoxyribonucleic acid is a bit beyond us.
Beyond you maybe, but not beyond me. I've got an anode, a cathode, some restriction factors, a silica gel plate, some buffer, some blotting paper, and some samples in my inventory. I will prove the existence of DNA yet!
(Actually this would be a retarded way to prove that DNA exists, since knowing how to use restriction enzymes would most definitely require knowing that it's there, so I could theoretically prove that DNA exists just by proving that the restriction enzymes exist)

All the ravens turned into crows when Gloriana got tainted. There are no longer any ravens in Lusternia.
I've heard this a few times but no one's ever cited a source to back it up. Where'd you get this so I can say 'ah!' and feel enlightened? As far as it goes right now I don't think the idea holds water.

What do starsuckers, dream leeches, grubs, gargoyles, stoneghasts, lyndwyrms, things in aetherspace and astral monters go under?
Depends.
Starsuckers and dream leeches - I may be wrong, but I have the impression that they are parasites that entered wather from aetherspace. I dunno where that impression came from. It would appear they breathe water, so if you can find proof that they were created by a Seventh Circle god, I shall classify them.
Grubs, gargoyles, stoneghasts and lyndworms - created by the taint from whatever was originally on the earth plane. Therefore, not animals by the definition. I shall make a list of monsters created from animals by the taint.
Things in aetherspace - do not breathe are or water. Therefore, not animals by the definition.
Oh, and if there are ravens living elsewhere in the basin, it brings up some strange connotation, like is Crow still their Collective Soul, does he consider them his children, and was he ever fully tainted in the taint wars if some of his children were not?

Merians are descended from Meridian, a First Circle god. His wife was Amberle, also First Circle. So, dead end there.
Arix2007-06-21 09:40:27
Merians are fish. Smart, mutated fish, but fish regardless
Jitwix2007-06-21 10:31:37
Updated with lots more animals, and thier locations too.
Let me know if I've missed any.
Current information still needed:
* The creator of fish - and no it was not Meridian
* The creator of 'tuskers'
* The creator of monkeys
* Differentiating between creations of Charune and Centaubi
* Did Virivain create larger birds? I'm thinking no. So whod did?
* Is it plausible that Blooredi, a friend of Mugowumpois also created amphibians?
* List of Glommie spiders
* Lists of mail deliverers
Ah, that would make them monsters then.

damn straight. Filthy beasts
Shamarah2007-06-21 12:48:23
IIRC, the mail deliverers are seagulls for Celest, bats for Magnagora, crows for Glomdoring, and owls for Serenwilde.
Arix2007-06-21 12:58:45
Crows, of course. I had been trying to remember what Glom used

Re: Mail-carriers
Doves, I think, are the generic ones.

Viravain2007-06-21 15:33:17
Again, Viravain didn't create the crabs or any other sea creatures. Crabs != Insects/Spiders no matter how many legs they have.
Unknown2007-06-21 16:00:20
Well, there's at least one crab you might have created:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crab_louse
It's an insect, and you did create it's cousin the flea.
So sorry but I couldn't resist.

Latest changes:
* All hooved animals will be classified under Charune until proved they were created by Centaubi. Camels have hooves.
* Snakes do not have limbs. Tetative classification as Slithering Blooredi.
* Frogs and salamaders tentative classification as Smooth Blooredi.
* Large birds have been given their own kind.
* Butterflies and Moths have been added (sorry, Ialie)
* I mistakenly claimed that wombats have enlarged canines. They in fact have enlarged incisors, classifying them with squirrels and rats as Gnawing Bollikin.
* Animals with known Collective Souls have been identified in bold.
Current information still needed:
* The respective creators of fish, tuskers, large birds, dolphins and monkeys. Oh, and crabs. Though I prolly won't get this unless it is revealed in further histories. Giant stomping elephant-god anyone?
* The origins of animals in the Aetherbubbles (Including Nexus Worlds and Spirit Manifestations) and Elemental Plane of Water
* List of Glommie spiders
* I am missing various sea animals, due to them not leaving prints behind.

Horses for sure are Centaubi's creation. Ponies are Charune's. You can see who was the bigger brother.

If Viravain created the Giant spiders, I think we can also say she created the Giant Solifugae in the Undervault, and perhaps the Scorpion as well.
Sylphas2007-06-21 20:43:10
She designs Magic cards too? Wow.
Jitwix2007-06-21 21:15:50
I was asked why I classified bats as tentatively Bollikin instead of Viravain. It is because I can imagine Bollikin looking at birds and going Hmmm....wings...interesting, and then making a weasel-like animal with wings instead of front paws. However, if Lady Virivain had put fur on a bird instead of feathers, I think it would look more like a bird, and have a beak. Also, bats sometimes crawl on all fours - birds can walk on two legs.
I was also asked if Bollikin copied wings how I didn't know that He also copied hooves and created goats and sheep. Meh. I am seriously beginning to dislike hoofed animals. Can Hartstone druids specialize in Squirrel?
Update: Added Scorpion and solifugae to Crawling Viravain - and corrected the spelling of Her name.

If they could, I'd totally switch.
