Yeah I feel the same way - to me they're just a disctraction.
Amarysse2007-06-26 18:59:26
Eh, they're pretty common if you're familiar with MMORPGs like Evercrack. I couldn't use them for a MUD, but for obvious reasons they're necessary when you're working with graphics, and some really beautiful sets have been created.

Enfeebles them with adorableness!

Seems like I'm the only one who doesn't have a black background. I chose brown to mimic the java client.

I know, but since at home I have a desktop with a CRT it won't look as good. ClearType's mostly for LCD screens so I'm waiting for a new computer.
I have a very large CRT out of personal preference, and I can tell you that all the new ClearType fonts look very nice on it; my monitor though is a relatively high-end CRT, YMMV.

Yeah, I even have a Sony Trinitron at home, which is supposed to work well with CT, but for some reason I'm not 100% thrilled with Consolas when I use my work computer at home. When I upgrade I'll probably get an LCD for my docking station. (I want to go LCD completely but I hate the "native resolution" limitation to LCDs, I wish we could get SED/FED monitors).

Dame Estarra wins.

Wow, I thought those computers could only be seen in old Spy movies now'a'days.
Seeing that, I decided to try connecting through XP's Telnet... it works... but you can't see what you're typing, and you can't make the window size any bigger. I feel sorry for anybody forced to use this method. (This is from my Desktop. The laptop runs vista )

I have a picture of Lusternia in Wingdings somewhere but I'm not sure whare. Outside of that I just use the default font with MUSHclient.

Lol, Estarra wins.
Ildaudid2007-06-27 06:13:16
OMG... that pic Estarra posted reminds me of my old Commodore 64, hehe I got the 300 baud modem downstairs... I remember when 300bps was superfast.... wow.... I feel old

Eep! The old TRS-80.
I'm betting Estarra cut her teeth on Zork and its sequels or other Infocom games on that box. Back then, you could get a special "business" system that had a 10MB hard disk, and 64KB of Ram.

You win this thread.
I'd be extremely curious though to see how you and the other admins view Lusternia, if you'd post a picture..

I can't speak for the other admins, but I assure you that my screenshot is very disappointing.

You have rooms for the Circles? That is so damn cool... And what's that (<-o0o->) thing in your prompt? I understand if it's classified, but you have sort of left yourself wide open for questions by posting that.

If I tell you, I'd have to delete you...
...and your little dog too!
