NINJAS! I mean imagine that, a archetype dedicated to stealth and quick attacks. I personally think t'would be cool. Like...they could start with...Ninjitsu as primary skill thingy, with a secondary skillset being a mix of something between Illusions, Acrobatics and Athletics...and call it Huy-gato or something (sounds Oriental don't it?). And make their primary attack something like...blowdarts...garrote...or this thingy where you sneak up behind them and snap their neck
Eg, AB NINJITSU NECKBREAK
Using your amazing stealth, you can now sneak up on denizens and adventurers and snap their neck, dealing severe damage.
(ALL BUT 1 idea taken from Anthony Horowitz book Scorpia )
AB HUYGATO REED
Using a simple reed, you can now swim underwater with the top of the reed sticking out of the water, providing you with air.
AB HUYGATO POWDER
Throwing powedered into your enemies eyes blinds them.
AB HUYGATO PROTECTION
Using 20 silk commodities, you can create a protective suit, letting you jump into fires and reducing some damage
AB HUYGATO LADDER
By throwing a simple ladder into the trees you now have a quick and stealthy exit. Only usable in forest environments (Like...it would do two things, 1. Let you climb into the trees 2. Noone could see you exit).
AB NINJITSU BALANCE
By focusing your Ub312 N1NJ4 5killz!@@#@! (Ok...let's just say that was your ninja abilities)
you can increase the rate at which you recover balance (2p)
Comments welcome...?

I blame the Otaku culture of America for ruining Chinese Assassinism and mixing it with a similar Japanese fighting art.
Also, who is to say one of our monk types will not be ninja-esque.

Well then...that'd probably be a bit like for Glom/Mag Like...give them a thing in their spec and call it like Shadowdrop
AB SHADOWDROP
By dropping pure darkness around you and forming it into a cloak you become invisible to the naked eye?

IIRC the Magnagoran spec is something like "Ninjaka"

The problem with almost everything you list is that it's actually underpowered. For example, anyone with high magic already get's Yesod (invisibility), nature users get night, hunters get camouflage (both of which are conditional invisibility) and there're probably a few more I'm missing.
The reed is purely redundant since waterbreathe is far more useful and accessible to everyone, unless this would allow you to DIVE (merians, mugwump, and aquamancers) which is only useful in specialized circumstances but wouldn't be a bad idea.
The ladder is duplicated in numerous ways, and I'm fairly certain that being cloaked allows you to SWING UP invisibly as well (someone correct me if I'm wrong about this.)
The silk protection thing wouldn't make much of a difference, because A) the only fire you can jump into is a firewall which no one uses, and doesn't make a difference anyway, and being ablaze is completely ignorable, even against a telekinetic.
The neckbreak would make sense as an instakill, but not as a bashing/damage attack. You can only break someone's neck so many times, after all...
Since I'm not sure I can convey that my mental tone is matter-of-fact instead of condescending, I'll just say it explicitly. I don't think it's necessarily a bad desire, but the stealth thing just doesn't work well in IRE. There are too many ways to detect people for the invisibility/stealth idea to work well.
The Shadowsnakes/Serpents/Syssin were designed with this in mind. The Saboteurs and the other, newer guild (Idras?) in Imperian probably do sneaky terrorists the best.

What do all IREs lack? SERPENTLORDS
wait. thats just us. But seriously, if you want ninjas, there are plenty of snake guilds in every other IRE game, go play them.

The ironic thing is that (at least in Imperian), the Noctusari are actually a better infiltration class than either of these, despite not being designed as such.
Unknown2007-07-18 00:06:57
I was more thinking of the ability to wear a mask, and that hostage taking thing. Not that I ever used either one, I just know they exist. But infiltration not so much.
Oh, and Dyr? NINJAed you by 3 minutes.

Thank you. Couldn't have said either thought better myself. I know I've not much room to comment on Lusternia - but one of the perks of Lusternia is that there wasn't any scrambled and anime-butchered ninjafied..well..yes. It was a nice breather. Varying martial arts is all well and good - but...really...enough with Naruto and all things similar.
EDIT: - Those are swarming everything else - it's been nice to be away from that particular irritant for a while.

The Predator profession in Imperian fits this description quite well. They use sitaras as weapons, toxins, have knifeplay which is quite ninja-ish, they DO use darts, garrote is used by assassins as are illusions. They even have masks that hide their identity from everything except allies. As far as breaking necks, I am pretty sure this is what HOSTAGE is used for.
so go rp a ninja if you want. Idras/Abhaen in Imperian

So basically, you want to make a Tracker, but you want to suck. You don't want to have any useful skills. You just want to be a ninja.
By the way, Trackers are already for some reason considered the "mercenaries" of Lusternia, so I don't know where ninjas could come in. Samurai, maybe. But that's just a Pureblade. Or Blademaster, depending on what version of the samurai you go with. Either way, the basic conception of most ninja cultures is they're mercenaries. And from just your current wish list, I don't see how you'd be any better than a warrior.
I like ninjas. They're cool. But I agree with Arix. No Ninjas. Not here.
Wait, did I just hear the rip of the fabric of space and time?
