Design slots

If I recall right, we were allowed to submit three cartel-only designs a year in the past. Then later two and now only one. Whilst I could perhaps even survive the two, I am finding it difficult to cope with *one* design every two weeks. Just think, in half a year I'll have twelve designs!

I know it's hard on the Charites, the recent lag in approvals denotes this, but for Nil's sake! sad.gif I wouldn't have bought a cartel that cost me 200 credits if I knew I can submit only one design a year. I knew I wouldn't be making money through the cartel, I assume no one ever does, but I bought it to enjoy the making of clothes on its own. And now we don't even have that. How can I ever take an order from someone when I have but one slot? If I take an order, for which I can't even charge much as no one would pay, then I can submit nothing myself... what use of a cartel then?

Thus I ask, could we please please please please (x 100000000000000000) have at least one or, omg, two slots more? Can more people not be hired to check the designs if that is where the problem is? I am certain there are people who'd do pure volounteer work for Charites eagerly!

If not, perhaps the cartel artifact could be implemented? As suggested here

Why not do something like Imperian does and have mortal approvers?

Because we're not Imperian! We have no desire to duplicate their system or anything similar to their system. Lusternia's design system is unique and we will keep it that way. (To preempt any debate on the matter, this has already been discussed and decided.)

FYI, there was a bug with cartel submissions which were causing the slots to fluctuate so we dropped the numbers down while we sort out what happened.

Besides. Have you seen Imperian's clothes? They're terrible.

All I meant was that mortal approvers would make things go faster, not turn into a carbon copy of Imperian -- we already have Mortal Builders, anyway. Since I'm neither a trader, a trademaster, or even a designer who goes through other mediums, I really don't care.

But it does take an awful long time, I've noticed, for designs to get approved.

Still, if you've decided not to bring help on board, then I guess we'll just have to put up with it.

Ohhh! I see, thank you Estarra for replying and clearing that up. smile.gif It has been bugging me for a while. And I hope there will be a raise in slots soon? *pray*

Vionne'd idea is nice, but I guess a no is a no. I don't know how Imperian's system works but when I thought of mortal approvers I more thought of just one or two mortals secretly appointed to help get through the log faster as I am sure Charites work force could be used on something more productive

The Mortal Building system is totally different. Builders build, admin check. And we can

Even if you set it up so that "Mortal approvers approve/disapprove (i.e. make the first decision)" it would be a lot easier on the Charities to just be able to see the disapproval and go "oh, I see, right, click." instead of having to carefully read through for mistakes. And I know that the "committee" system (three people have to decide) and the "first-line" system (if there's confusion it gets bumped up to the gods) work alright, inasfar as quality control goes.

It's not all that totally different.
