Will I be seeing anyone in line at the San Francisco Apple store tonight? I'll be wearing a black light-jacket (it's SF...), and umm.. Maybe I'll put a yellow post-it note on it somewhere!
Anyone? Anyone?
Anyone? Anyone?

I am too poor to both i) get a plane ticket to San Fran and ii) actually buy the iPhone. Good luck getting one though, it looks pretty cool =D

Well..
I stood in line. Got my iPhone.
It is GORGEOUS.

Too bad the iPhone's not for Verizon, which is what I'm stuck with... ohh well. Verizon's got a cool flippy phone that I want, but I'm still uber jealous that you've got the iPhone. I want it SOOO bad!
Sylphas2007-07-03 05:49:17
If you can afford an iPhone, you can probably afford to break your contract.
Aison2007-07-04 02:52:08
iPhone seems to be too expensive, considering I could afford a new apartment, plus gas for just the cost of one.
I'm already satisfied with my Samsung m610 for Sprint. Whoo thinnest phone available in the US!
EDIT: Plus, I imagine the battery life sucks and there's going to be quite a few bugs. I already had my fill of touch-screen phones... I hated all the others I had. But good luck to anyone who gets them. I hope you enjoy it!

Actually, the battery life is like 6 or 7 hours of talk-time, or 24 hours of continuous music, or like 7 hours of movie watching, which is pretty nice.
Sylphas2007-07-04 07:31:24
Battery life numbers are meaningless unless you give me a chart that plots battery life against the ratio of internet, music, and phone usage. Maybe a three dimensional graph that charts battery life using color gradients. It would look neat too.

Just so you realize, you are turning more and more into Verithrax every day.
Sylphas2007-07-04 21:31:48
I'm not sure how to take that. The Verithrax I loathe, or the Verithrax I like?

The Verithrax most people loathe. So whichever one that is for you, then there you go.

All new smart phones have the same sucky battery life. Which means you have to charge it every night, or it will go dead at some point the next day. (Oh how I miss my once a weak charges)
As for the touch screen, the touchscreen on the iphone, is like no other touch screen ever produced for the public, in the history of touch screens. Quite a few people at my office have the phone, and the touch screen is amazing.

Attractive, intelligent, witty and oh-so-terribly modest?
Or do you just mean "Smarter than me, thus making me envious?"
Sylphas2007-07-05 08:18:29
I mostly hated his character. It's actually easier to ignore him OOC, if he starts being a prick.

I can get about 4 hours of straight talk-time on my phone. It's got a little battery but it knows how to save. I am not so sure something as big and powerful as the iPhone could handle up to 6-7 hours of talk time unless it was very good at conserving the battery life.
I haven't seen one, just a demonstration. It looks interesting... but I rather like my flat-pad button mashing and little screen. No mess, no clunk, nice and thin, can fit into my back pocket... stuff like that.
Myndaen2007-07-05 17:03:01
Out of curiosity, unless this is your primary work phone, who uses their phone for 6-7 hours of talk time without being able to recharge it somewhere in the middle? :/
That's a LOT of minutes per month!

I have found that my car charger can really hurt my phone's short term battery life. I also tend to find myself not always near my phone charger at the end of the day.

It was tested by New York Time reporters. Apple claimed something like 8 or so, the users found 6-7, because they didn't turn off wi-fi and such, which is more realistic, obviously.

They said there's some smudging, but it can be easily wiped off, and its not really bad. However, the thing can have a key raked across it and the screen won't even have a mark, which is pretty nice.
