Well, everyone has a limit of what they can accept, personally I'd find it silly if such a huge robot could transform into a handgun and no amount of CG could change it.
Besides, I treat the movie as a variation, not the adaptation. Because that's what it actually is.
I wonder if there's gonna be a sequel.

I don't know about that. Something like Ultra Violet's "flatspace" technology would make it all nice and workable. I mean, they're space fairing giant robots.. how is the idea of a pocket dimension so much beyond them?

I was talking about the cars that they actually transform into. Its all a bunch of product placement and modern cars. So Bumblebee is now a camero, (though they have him parked next to a yellow bug for a brief second, which I took as a small "we are sorry, VW wouldn't pay us enough."
Oh yeah, that's right. But it doesn't really bother me since they already made those big changes I mentioned. Also, some of transformers changed their appearance over time as well (remember Optimus Prime the combat platform? It was in the original comic series).

I don't recall Ultra Violet. However, that would probably mean we wouldn't see all the transformation (which looks really good on the trailers) since it would be some extradimensional change. *Puff*?
Besides, I don't think they'd be beating one another on the streets if they had this kind of tech.

The latest TMNT was a wonderful movie, surpassing my expectations by far. I really hope Transformers is the same way. As a kid I loved these cartoons. I also was a big fan of GI Joe, Voltron, and He-Man. I would love to see them made into movies, though for some reason I think GI Joe and He-Man would be total flops. (And yes, I know there were movies for these two in the past, but they don't count for the same reason the live-action foam suit TMNT movies don't count.)
Has everyone heard the news about the leaked info for the Transformers sequel? It's going to be that the Autobots and Decepitcons are forced to join forces to battle a new robot force: the Go Bots.

WTH are Go bots?
When I went to fandango to buy the tickets for the July 2nd showing, I got asked a few wierd questions on a survey.
One of them, was which of the following would you like to see be made into a movie: Gi Joe, He man, Voltron, and a few others I forget because I didn't click them.
They also strangely asked if I would like to visit any of the places shown in the movie.

Roark, the really weird thing about the He-Man movie that was produced was that it was more or less a back-door adaptation of Jack Kirby's New Gods. Watch it sometime, and you can see Skeletor as Darkseid and Billy Barty as Metron. They even have Boom Tubes!
As for Go-Bots being the antagonists--it might make sense but Go-Bots ended up doing poorer in the marketplace. Ironically, Hasboro bought the Tonka line of Go-Bots and I think there is or was a line of Transformers: Go-Bots aimed at the pre-schooler audience.
Daganev, Go-Bots were the competition to Transformers--another Japan-based toyline adapted by Tonka. They actually had their series developed first. It was IMO inferior to Transformers. Hanna-Barbara produced the 66 episode series while Transformers had better animation and more storyline backing. At the time, they were known as the competition and if you were a kid like Roark you'd know of the rivalry.
I was a teenager at the time all this was hitting, so I don't have a lot of Transformers love.

I'd like to see a well done Batman 2020 movie.

A Voltron movie would kick ass.

I want to have autobot cyborg babies.
I absolutely loved this movie, and was so thrilled that it was the original Optimus Prime voice. I got chills when the narrator's voice in the intro started speaking. My poor boyfriend was inundated with "OHMIGOSH! I THINK THAT'S THE ORIGINAL OPTIMUS PRIME VOICE!!!"
Hm, hope that's not too much a spoiler.

Ok, now I am embarressed. I asked my sister if she rememberd Go-bots, and her response was "Yeah, remember you used to love to watch that with me? "
And a later find out that this red transfomer car I have, which I thought was a fake, is actually just a more original die-cast metal version instead of the platic ones I mostly remeber. Go figure!
vorld2007-07-05 05:56:59
I kinda want to watch the movie. I barely remeber watching transformers, voltron and GI joe when I was younger
Unknown2007-07-05 09:19:50
I just found out premiere is not worldwide and I'd have to wait till August 17. Bastards.

My fiance and I went to see this yesterday, fully expecting that we'd only enjoy the effects.
I'm very pleased to say that we were wrong, and we'll be picking this up on DVD (if only so that we can pause the movie, and verify a few errors in continuity we noticed) when it's released.

I saw it yesterday, and it was completely awesome. I'm totally going to go see it again and buy overpriced movie tickets again, that's how awesome it was.

One of my biggest complaints...
Bumblebee should not have been modernized. The old Camaro was a great look- why not just soup it up instead of making it into the new Mustang-lookalike?

Really? I thought that was really cool, how he did that. I noticed someone else complaining about the fact that he was a camero instead of a vw bug too, it didn't bother me at all. But then, I'm not much of a 'car person' so I prolly didn't focus on all that all that much. I mean, the best I can generally do is describe a car by color and whether it's a car, truck or suv. If Sam hadn't said he was being followed by Satan's Camero that one time, I honestly might not have known it was even a camero.

I liked the aussie girl, and was pissed we didn't get a character resolution for her.
If she's the representative of Australia to the world, though, I'm happy with that.

She was really very pretty, even if I couldn't stop watching the odd way her mouth moved when she spoke.
