the for lack of a better word "black ethnicly sounding robot" was my favorite, half way though the movie had me saying to my friend Coal train babah. -gow- for anyone who knows also what was megatrons transform mode thing? was it even a real life object?

Some kind of jet plane, but not a man-made one.

Roark, you trickster. tongue.gif At least I hope that was a joke...

Watched it.

To be honest, I was most annoyed by the pointless little characters. Like the female english hacker, the black hacker guy, john turturro's cop character, etc. Most of them weren't funny and just stole from the transformers. The pacing needed some work, too. Like the scene where the kid had to go in his room and try to find the glasses while keeping the maximals err I mean the autobots (I was a big beast wars fan a kid sleep.gif) from his parents. The scene just dragged on and ON. The pacing was all wrong. Michael Bay's fault, horrible director (citations being A: Pearl Harbor B:Armageddon C: Bad Boys II) The story was pretty weak, but as Kashim said it's more of a variation, not a true movie adaption.

There were some strong points in the movie though, like of course the special effects, derr. The great Optimus vs Megatron relationship, though I wish Megatron had some more lines, he's always been my favorite tyrannical bad guy.

If there is a sequel I want to see some sort of Beast Wars incarnation sad.gif *hopes*

Disliked the random flame decals on Optimus, although that was partially redeemed by the energy axe he used to destroy Bonecrusher. Other than that, and Starscream (!) not having a more prominent role, it was movie that delivered what it promised: lots of Transforming action, with little of anything else. Enjoyed it.

If I'm not mistaken classic Optimus has always had those decals...How're they random?

edit: after some research, I guess not >.>

Just as a point of interest regarding the (few) Thundercats-related replies, there IS a Thundercats movie planned.

Not sure if it's animated or live action, though the latter would probably turn out more cheesy than enjoyable.

That was one of my favorite parts of the movie. And I still crack up just thinking about that scene. Infact I want to find a screenshot and make it my desktop.

Dude...what the hell? Sure it was funny after the first minute or so, but come on. That scene had to last like 10 minutes. It was just annoying after awhile.

LOL

Not laughing at your post, just laughing at the image.

The image of annoyed movie watchers seeing 40 foot robots play hide and seek, is even funnier.

Sorry, I can't explain it, I must be on crack or something, but it's -Hillarious!-

Wasn't annoyed by the transformers, could never get enough of them. It was the human acting that was getting on my nerves. *shrug* It was just all so blaize and michael bayish.

I guess I benefited then from not seeing any of his other movies.

If anyone finds a screen shot of the scene we are talking about, please post the link. I can't find one *frown*

*edit: Also, I went into the movie remembering the "acting" and "charachters" from the cartoons, so even if they just said hi, it would have had plenty of depth for me smile.gif Though I must admit, I was annoyed that the made the transformers so public. I seem to remember the cartoons having all the fights in the desert, and the military was rarely if never involved.

OMG!!!!

I just did a search for Go-bots, and it turns out I had All those toys! Amazing that I had no clue they were called go bots.

Heh, there's a new Thundercats movie planned (WB, I think). Turns out it's going to be CGI, not live action (although, there IS a live action He-Man movie in the works...).
Unknown2007-07-10 21:06:16
funniest part of the movie was when the dog "lubricated" his foot and then bumble bee "lubricated" the cop

Ok, now I am really embarassed.

I recognize many of those characters, and memories are flooding back. (some of the images in that intro, I had thought were dreams not memories.)
Unknown2007-07-10 23:23:30
Don't be embarrassed. Even if you remember stuff from your childhood, you don't always remember the details.

Go-Bots was popular at the time but it sort of faded in pop-culture memory while Hasbro kept doing stuff with Transformers. I'm not surprised some people forgot it.
