Could we please fix it so it doesn't pick up everything? Maybe have it pick up kills WE kill only?
Unknown2007-07-04 19:36:06
There's nothing to fix. It's making you "greedy", no?
Unknown2007-07-04 19:46:57
And you're running around picking up other player's gold, not to mention random items. Then, you have to listen to them fuss about it, drop selfishness, and give the items back. It doesn't matter if it makes sense to pick up everything. It's annoying, to say the least. It seems easier to just make aquisitio only pick up denizen corpses you kill as opposed to fixing it like other games where you automatically pick them up.
Shayle2007-07-04 20:29:20
Or you can just not use it, right? I think it does what it's supposed to do.
Unknown2007-07-04 20:53:48
Right, but then this game doesn't have auto denizen corpse pick up either. So, you basically have to use it unless you want to manually pick up corpses.
Acrune2007-07-04 20:59:34
Its fine as is. If you don't like using it, make triggers to pick stuff up.

Agree.

I'm sure it was fine in some of the other IRE games before they coded auto denizen pick up too. It makes it more convenient for the customers though. As for using triggers, you have to wait to regain balance before picking them up. With auto pickup or aquisitio, you don't have to wait.
Acrune2007-07-04 21:15:56
So?
Unknown2007-07-04 21:21:08
So, the truth of the matter is, the more features (including convenience features) a game has, the more players will be attracted. The more players attracted, guess what, the more money the game brings into the company.
Acrune2007-07-04 21:23:03
I doubt an auto corpse-grabber is going to rake in the millions.
As long as player corpses aren't scooped, I don't really care what is done.

Good grief. I never said it would generate millions. Please read my post again. The more features a game has the more people will be attracted to a game. Among other areas of interest. For me, I happen to absolutely adore the player base. The turnoff is the lacking of reasonable bashing areas and some convenience features. I happen to think Lusternia is a lovely game and I like the admins here as well. I like the fact that they take the time to explain game changes and such.
I don't think player's corpses should be included. Only denizens you kill yourself. For example:
You have slain a black rat.
You pick/scoop up the corpse of a black rat.
You have regained balance on all limbs. (or however the wording is)
Another alternative would be to allow DENIZEN only corpse pickup while off balance.

It doesn't matter. You can't move until you have balance anyway, and picking them up doesn't use up balance. Just trigger-grab them.
My rant about Acquisitio is that people keep picking up my damn chairs and couches.

The thing with triggering a wait time is allowing for lag. So, you basically either do it manually or allow more time to compensate for lag. Really, this would be a simple feature to add. I don't see what the big deal is.

No you don't. Trigger killing something to activate another trigger that picks up your target when you get eq/bal back.

No matter, small changes like this would definately help the game. I know Lusternia is the newest IRE game and it takes time to get a good player base up and going. Small convenience additions help rather you want to admit it or not.
For instance, I've tried other games aside from IRE's. In most of them, I never played anymore because upon a chatacter's death, they had to go back and find their corpses in order to get their equipment back. If they couldn't for whatever reason, they lost their equipment. Needless to say, I never played again after one death.
It's small things like that that dictate your player numbers.

I like Aquisitio just like it is.
Razenth2007-07-04 23:21:21
It's fine. I've picked up random quest items with it. I like it. Stop whining.
Unknown2007-07-04 23:28:42
A suggested change does not = whinning. Stop calling people whiners who are trying to help your dang game. I can get this in Achaea plus auto pickup.
Gwylifar2007-07-05 01:51:18
What you're not getting is that acquisitio is supposed to be annoying and selfish and make other people hate you. And at no extra cost!
What you want is something other than acquisitio, which you've mistaken acquisitio for, but which is something you can do yourself in two lines of code.
