I'm bored (and back, by the way) and you're the poster directly above me. Did you already role claim and I forgot?

No, I didn't roleclaim, so if you know anything about me it must have come from other sources.
Unknown2007-07-30 21:57:18
It's not that I know anything, I just couldn't remember if you were one of the bandwagon-targets already and wasn't feeling like looking it up.

Because you're quiet and I'm bored. I've got a bit of an interesting idea about how we can spice up the game a little but we'd all have to agree to participate. Though it wouldn't be possible until Daganev returned.
Anyway, idea is, we all roll a 12 (is that how many people are still alive?) die and so does the mod. Whoever get the number the mod gets has to make a role claim .

^^;; There isn't much to say. I like the die roll idea though, since it should give us more information to work with.
Iridiel2007-07-31 12:21:21
I don't know if a roleclaim at this point helps the mafia more than us...
Unknown2007-07-31 12:27:26
In a game of this size I don't think one more random roleclaim hurts the town too much, just gives us some info to go off that we seem to be lacking. We need something.
Iridiel2007-07-31 12:37:32
Ah ok, I was somehow thinking you wanted everybody to randomy roleclaim depending on the dice. (Do it several times) and sounded a bit... risky. Specially since we can only confirm a role or two a night I think (depends on the amount of scryers we have).

Vote:Xikue We need something and I really can't remember a single post of yours.
Also, the dice idea sounds good

I will jump on the vote:Xikue bandwagon as well just because I feel like another roleclaim would be helpful at this point.
If we decide to do the dice idea instead, I'm for that as well.

Because I'm such a loser, Siven's icon is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Well, I'm not going to join the bandwagon (yet)...
But on the subject of a random dice roll, I'm not to sure that's a good idea.
1) Who does the roll, and how do we determine that?
2) How do we verify the roll?
Because if a mafia member is the one selected to make the roll, he could select someone that wasn't mafia and say that they were rolled, regardless of if the person actually rolled or not. Then all we find out is a townsperson's role, which could reveal an important role for the mafia to kill at night.
If you have a way to make a secure roll, that everyone could verify, I would be a little more open to this suggestion.

I think what he was suggesting was that the mod makes the deciding roll (we'd have to convince him first, though) and everyone else just does their own roll. Each person posts what number he got, and then the mod posts the actual number.
Although that seems like it involves the mod a little more directly than he might possibly want to be. Give me a little while, I'm working on a way to choose a number in advance and have everyone be able to access it, but without it being obvious enough that everyone can just choose a different number.
I think I have one. Let me play around with it a little bit.

I think I have it. Everyone roll a number for yourself. Quidgyboo, it was your idea so you roll a number for me as well. Once everyone's posted what number they rolled, then I'll explain how to retrieve the deciding number.
Unknown2007-08-01 21:58:07
Hmm. Try this one then.
Mirk2007-08-02 05:07:10
are we just using 1 six sided die, or what?
Unknown2007-08-02 05:09:45
12. The number of living people.
Unknown2007-08-02 05:29:17
I rolled a 3
Iridiel2007-08-02 12:56:17
I got a 10
