So how are they going to make this movie? I really can't think of anything they can cut, without mutilating the story, because there aren't really any side plots. Unless they simply maul every scene to shorten it, it's not going to fit in the time they're willing to give it, and if they do that, it's going to be HORRID.

Argh, the epilogue. ARGH. And Dobby. So glad that Snape turned out to be good, though, or at least not completely evil. And I liked the way it seemed that he had changed his mind at the last minute, but it had actually all been planned that way.

I'm sad that Rita Skeeter didn't get what was coming to her.
Edit: Thanks Nejii!

I can see a lot of the camping being like a montage or something, because they have tons of parts that are just long. I'm REALLY hoping they don't cut out Kreacher stuff too, I LOVED the parts when he became all nice and loyal to Harry! They'll probably cut out the wedding, things to do with the Lovegoods, a lot of Harry experiencing Voldemort's flashbacks...hmm yeah, just random stuff.
Unknown2007-07-24 15:51:18
They'll probably cut out most of the Rita Skeeter stuff and the rumours of Dumbledore being bad etc. And they'll probably find another way of telling Harry about the Hallows, and cut out the stuff at the Lovegoods' house, including that scene of Luna's room and how she decorated it. (I really liked that bit).
Veonira2007-07-24 15:57:23
One thing I think is most important for them to do well is the period of time between Harry finding out he has to die and when he reveals himself to Voldemort in the forest. I LOVED that part of the book, I thought it was really well written...emotional without being too much. I just hope it translates onto the big screen.
Hazar2007-07-24 16:19:36
I actually loved the way Harry came back to life. It completed the symmetry between Harry and Voldemort.
This is just here because I wanted to make another cool-looking black line.

I thought the exact same thing when I finished the book. I liked Snape's Memoir though, it was well done. I didn't like Voldermort's deathscene though, it was rather anti-climatic. The whole wand thing to was .
Liked the book in general, hated the epilogue. Who was Victorie? Lupin, Tonks, Fred and the Sorting hat . Mrs. Weasley vs. Bellatrix was cool though  .

That part practically made me cry.

Amazing story. I didn't like the epilogue much, either, but kudos to J.K. for actually writing one.
I wanted to see what happened when the Deathly Hallows were actually together, though. Dumbledore and Harry danced around the full equation for a while during Harry's "death," but they never really explained the outcome.
I also wanted Rita Skeeter to die, and I wanted a lot of Harry/Hermione/Ron's weird traveling to finally come to an end. I thought it carried on too much in some places.
Albus Severus Potter made me snicker happily, too.

Just finished it.
The gamer in me wanted all the hallows together, it'd be like oni-Harry Potter.
The part where Voldemort died was anticlimactic, I had to read it twice. Also, I didn't realize Tonks and Lupin died until after they'd mentioned it once or twice, I don't know if I was reading too fast or what, but that kind of seemed to come from nowhere.
The only part that made me laugh out loud in the book was where Molly yells, "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" at Bellatrix.

When all the Hallows are together, Harry's wand turns turquoise-blue and he can use it to pick up Death Eaters and throw them at other Death Eaters.
(Many, many VeriPoints to whomever gets that joke.)

Victoire is assumed to be Bill and Fleur's daughter.

To be honest, I was under the impression nothing actually -happened- per say if they were all together, it was just that if you did have them you'd be pretty unstoppable.
