Have you considered visiting their fulcruxes? They're usually good for symbols, themes, and other design fodder.
Ayridion actually wouldn't be that difficult, I think- he's known as "The White Flame," and his pet is a phoenix. The mask could be comprised of tongues of white flames licking up about the sides of the wearer's face, highlighted with platinum, or perhaps a white phoenix with flaming wings widespread over the wearer's eyes and its head thrown back in a cry of victory at the center of their brow.

Elostian has a big twilight motif, and if you don't find anything in his fulcrux for inspiration, check out his temple in the Razine Mountains (the full layout realm map has it mapped) for a ton of imagery.

Before I submit this and get it rejected, here is the info I am (eventually) going to submit for my item customization:
Item Name:
-Lilium Scythe (Edited)
The description when it's dropped:
-Forgotten here lies an ancient scythe, nearby pebbles vibrating to its presence. (Edited)
The description when you look at it:
-Covering the scythe from heel to snath are are thorned vines, curling around the twisted fossilized wood like the hungry roots of a weed. Tiny pebbles gravitate and float around the toe and chine of the blade, suffusing the area with a gangrenous green glow. The eerie blade is made from a large rib bone, smoky and blood-stained in appearance; finely sharpened, it is very much capable of slicing the hardiest of flesh or stone. Dry and black lilies decorate the ring and stem of the scythe, feeding off a tainted energy.
I don't have Word, so I may have some words misspelled. Any help, corrections, or suggestions are very much appreciated!

1) I would expect they would ask you to expand on the appearance part. "Lilium" by itself does not accurately describe the weapon you are customizing. You could be holding a tiny person named Lilium, for all we know.
2) "vines silently rooting itself in the ground" is a bit strange. It doesn't indicate what vines (i.e. they could just as easily indicate vines reaching out of the ground or a nearby tree), and I can't think of a reason vines wouldn't be silent, so it seems an unnecessary adjective.
3) Very neat design! I love it.

I'm not sure about the item name, I saw Sybl with "Nil Reaver" or something similar, without the weapon/item reference. I'll make changes to the original post, though, adding something in. And thanks!

A reaver is a pretty common name for a type of weapon though. By definition, it means "one who reaves", and to reave is to "rend, break, tear." So while it is not officially the name of the weapon, it's still a strong descriptor.

I don't think things vibrate to something's presence. Maybe "vibrating in its presence", or "vibrating to its hum" (if it hums) though that's a bit forced, or "vibrating in sympathy with its presence" or something. But as is, it's neither grammatically correct nor semantically clear.

Ok, thanks Ymbryne and Gwylifar! I'll be sure to make the changes before I submit. Thanks again, you two

I'd like to get a quick critique on this before the end of the IC year. It's been so long since I've designed clothes... Don't be gentle >.>

==== 5486 - some pink bunny pyjama pants ====
----
Commodities: silk 5 cloth 3 garnet 1 redtint 1
Dropped: Some pink pyjama pants have been discarded here, its cotton tail seeming to wiggle enticingly.
Examined: Sumptuous silk has been used in the tailoring of this cute garment, its loose and comfortable make simply begging to be lounged in. The silk of these pyjamas has been brushed to a gentle shine and dyed a very light pink, while a white silken drawstrap and garnet carrot buttons cinch the waist. The sleek silk glides smoothly over the wearer and pools at their feet, easily hiding even their toes in the luscious folds. A large, almost perfect sphere of fuzzy white wool has been affixed onto the waist of the rear of the silken garment, providing a fluffy puff for a bunny's tail. A discreet panel has been sewn onto the buttocks of the pyjamas, its top edge just below the fluffy tail, with carrot buttons in the corners to fasten the panel.

The craft guild has returned your proposed design for further revisions. See DESIGN LIST. The following comments were made of the design:
Right now there is no viable walnut or general nut commodity, though we have added an acorn commodity. Please rethink the main ingredients of your meringue, thank you!

I've gotten in many, many different sorts of nuts in the past, usually using the grain commodity. I have used walnut before with no hitches. Has anyone else run into this problem recently? Or should I just resubmit as is and expect it to be accepted anyways (which has happened more than once in the past)?
Just thought this thread could see more use.

The Charites are different people, and some can be irritatingly picky. What I've done in the past is erase the comments and resubmit if I think I'm right, heh. Or put in your explaination about how grains could act as different nuts or something. Usually enough of an explanation will also result in approval.
