My week was going really bad, as I normally happens right before tisha b'av, but today, has been amazingly great for me!

Well, Friday 13th struck me. Not only was the theater crazy crowded (though thankfully not many preteens), but the IMAX was on the fritz and they weren't able to play on the regular IMAX projector with the digitized 3D effects. So they ran the movie on 35 mm, taking up about a third of the IMAX screen.
Well at least they gave us free IMAX tickets in compensation.

I went and bought tickets to see the afternoon show of Harry Potter on the IMAX, thinking that I'd avoid all the kiddies since they'd be in school.
Of course, I just realized that it's summer and they're not in school...

I'm not seeing the problem...did you just want to see it at midnight?
Going to see it today...let's hope nothing goes wrong!

I think the problem Estarra had was that she didn't want to go to the movie amidst a whole gaggle of kids, thought that she'd be safe from it by choosing to go during the afternoon when kids should be at school and forgot that because it's summer, there's no school for kids to be in.
Course other Friday the 13th IMAX calamities struck it seems!

Yeah, but are afternoon shows more expensive, or does she not like daylight, or what?

Well, not knowing where Estarra lives, I can't say... but generally afternoon shows are cheaper. I think it was the being surrounded by kids that was the issue, not money.

Afternoon shows are cheaper, and normally have the benefit of no kids.
But in this case there were kids, which was bad. I'm not sure what you are asking.

To lighten everybody's mood, I found this image on somebody's MySpace page I had to include here.
And yes, it's Friday the 13th related, if you think of the character.

It's my brother's birthday.
It's my birthday too.
Well, was, since it's now the 14th. I'm officially 22.

Ha ha, Richter's old.
My Friday the 13th was ok. The software updates we were working on got delayed, and that may or may not be my fault. But my coworker thinks its his fault (and it might be, dunno if I was told to do what wasn't done or not) and it was an easy fix so its all good. And the release was version 13 too . So the stuff was released on the 13th instead of the 12th (not a big deal), and a lot of things I made, and things that I debugged, were included, and I'm pleased that a lot of people can now use stuff that I programmed or worked on.
Plus, I got to go to a party! It was terribly lame (who plays the movie "Running with scissors" at a party? So depressing...) but I like getting out of the house for a change

Well, my 13th was okay. Other than driving an hour and a half in a car with no A/C, well i DO have 290, which is 2 windows down, 90 mph. Also had something fall off my car, but still trying to identify exactly what. Hoping it was something useless like the catalytic converter. Also, all my buddies went off to the lake before I got back into town.

This is why you must come to College Park.
