Psiarmour is minor physical resistance. You're thinking of Forcefield, a telekinetic skill.

No, I meant psiarmour.
Physical damage:
Harmony- angphet
Psionics- psiarmour
Psychometabolism- ironskin
Acrobatics- dodging, elasticity
So that's angphet, psiarmour, and ironskin for monks who choose psychometabolism. Angphet, dodging, and elasticity for acrobatic monks. Both can wear leather or robes (I'd assume).
Psychic damage:
Psionics- mindbar
Harmony- angmun
Not a big deal.
Elemental damage:
Psionics- biofeedback
Psychometabolism- energycontainment
Not a big deal.
Afflictions:
Harmony- chumun
Psychometabolism- bonedensity
Shielding, dodging, etc:
Harmony- akhlumangchu (prismatic barrier for 1p)
Acrobatics- avoid, handstand
I want a prismatic barrier for 1k health right after I performed a power feat...
Increased damage:
Psychometabolism- doublepain
Harmony- krakphet
Now depending on if monks get lowmagic or highmagic, or neither, more skills can be added. A shame they fight with weapons.. I'd rather it be completely physical. Yay for blunt damage protection.

does psiarmour + bodyfuel = 5 power for 5K ego?

Salvation was clearly talking to daganev. Monks seem neat, but I don't think I could ever change archetypes regardless of the interesting buffs they might get.

You're not going to have 'infinite power' with Bodyfuel. It only regenerates up to 5 at a time, and I'm pretty sure it snags those straight from the reserves.
Monks hardly have a use for power, anyways. I never have to use it in my forms, I've got no PsyMet things, Psionics things, or Harmony things that take power that I actually vitally need. The only power I've been using is on Yellow/Teleport/Summon.

Body fuel only generates power if some of your immediately usable power is gone. I tried to bring my power up to 100% reserves...you can't. However, if you have 4000 health, and only 7p that you can use, you can bring yourself back up to 10p and still be alive.
Zacc2007-07-20 18:13:37
Oh, ok. Thank you for clearing that up. But what if a person's reserves were at 0 and their available power was 0 also- would bodyfuel still grant the power?

I told the Seren monk I was in love with you.
I told the Seren monk I was in love with you.
And then, the Seren monk, he told me what to do.
He said that:
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah, ting tang, walla walla bing bang.
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah, ting tang, walla walla bing bang.
And then my head exploded.

People seem to be horribly misunderstanding monk skills...
A lot of the abilities listed are very nice. HOWEVER, keep in mind that only 3 harmony abilities can be used at once, and anything that begins with AKH- can only be used if the component harmonies are chanted. So, for example, akhlumangchu can only be used if you chant a metal, water, and wood mantra. So, while some of the abilities (especially AKH-) seem very nice, remember that only one can be used at any given time.
The same goes for psychometabolism. There are a lot of very nice abilities, and it would be horribly OP if they could all be used at once. The majority of the powerful abilities require a locked channel, though, and of those very few (if any, I'm too lazy to look) can be used on the substratus channel. That means you can choose two of the powerful abilities to use at a time.
The abilities are still very nice, but they are not as powerful as they seem when you consider the choices that are involved. These skills were designed perfectly to allow a lot of strategic choice - which also works perfectly with katas. There are a lot of very powerful abilities, but you have to choose what to use and structure your style around them.

So far as I can see the power comes out of nowhere.
Krellan2007-07-21 03:42:53
bodyfuel sounds like it works like the titan refresh power. it's 'free' power. doesn't come from your reserves. though I suppose it's not as free since it comes from your health. Great for deffing up though!
Shiri2007-07-21 03:45:37
Or it would be, if we used power to def up.
Krellan2007-07-21 04:19:41
yellow and winter! plus cheaper serpents!
