Kentucky-fried chicken?

For some reason..life doesn't suck right now. I'm happy to some decent degree.
I'm not worrying about school, jobs, college, my fairly lacking social life, grades, anything! Just sitting back with some happy music, enjoying the night pass by. So strange. I got an awesome test score for my PSAT (1710), but the test was actually one I just got out of a booklet my school give me. With decent scores like that (the average on the PSAT being 1440), just..wow. PSAT will be cake, and the SAT itself is actually -next year-. I'm not supposed to know this stuff yet, and I'll have it down 100% by next year for an awesome score. That just makes me feel awesome.
Woohoo!

One of the reasons people are happy is because they simply don't have anything to worry about.
And then a truck hits them.

Always thought it was the off the wall things, like trains where there are no tracks?

Don't be silly. Everyone expects a train to hit them. Very few people expect a truck to hit them. Those that do expect a truck to hit them, are either hit by a train or they end up end the bumper of a beat up volkswagon thing with a trippy paint job.

You can take the SAT at any age, I think. If you think you've got it down now, I suggest you just go for it. I took it first when I was 11 or 12.

I took the PSAT around that age, then the SAT the next year. Something to do with scholarships or awards or something? I got some kind of tuition break for my school that was related to it, if I remember properly (this was 6th grade, and I'm a senior in college, so my memory's a smidgen fuzzy!).
Then I sat for it "FOR REAL!" junior year.
And now the SAT sounds like a real nightmare, since I took it before they reworked it yet again.

It was to let me go to Smart Camp.

Yeah, the new one does look pretty bad, even more so for me because I positively loathe forced writing. I am not looking forward to taking it again (in fact, I'm hoping that I won't, I did pretty well the first time ).
Aoife2007-10-14 14:04:58
I still maintain that the only reason I didn't get a perfect score on my SAT II writing was because the graders didn't like my topic!

I never had to take the SAT. For some reason they only looked at ACT scores in my state. I got a 24 the first time I took it (sophomore year) and I wasn't as applied to my studies as I wished I had been. I could have taken it a second time, but I never saw myself going beyond Ohio State University, which doesn't exactly have high academic standards (lo and behold, I did end up going elsewhere).

My state only did the ACT too. I got a 27 on mine (would have gotten higher, but was thwarted by a low math score bringing down the average. Damn you math!) and it was enough for a partial scholarship to college so I didn't take it again.
Unknown2007-10-14 17:50:14
I already had a full ride scholarship to UK, so my only goal in taking the ACT was to get into UK.
Somehow got a 30 my first try, and never took it again.

OSU has higher academic standards if you want to be in the Honors program. They are also raising the standards a bit more every year.

Not sure what you people mean by it being reworked. If I know it correctly, they just added a writing section. All that is looking for errors, improving sentences/paragraphs, etc.
And..hmm, if you can take it any year, I might just give it a shot. I can retake it, right? Don't wanna get a crappy score and walk into a dead end.

You can pretty much retake the ACT as many times as you want.
Also, look into the details for your specific university that you are interested in taking. Some Universities accept the highest score from each section from each time you take it.
So if you get a 30 in reading and a 20 in the math the first time, then get a 30 in math and a 20 in reading the second time, they'll take the two 30's as you're score for each section.

Ew. Bailey's is prone to curdling enough as it is, and then you help it along by adding hot coffee?
It actually doesn't curdle in coffee or tea.
And, fun fact, it will also not curdle in IBC root beer, although it will curdle in other root beer.
Lenalith2007-10-15 03:55:38
It certainly tastes like it's at least a little bit off... I prefer Amaretto in my coffee.

Both a rant and a rave. Neopets new customization options are pretty awesome. Having your neopets decked out in clothing and unique backgrounds is pretty awesome. But almost nothing fits on a mutant lupe

I tried a new recipe tonight for my family. The cookbook says it's Bul-Ko-Kee.
Compared to making sweet and sour chicken and having to cook a pizza for the rest of the family, everyone enjoyed this recipe. Yay for interesting new foods that everyone can enjoy.
Query: Why is it that when an American makes Asian food, it always tastes like they added too much soy sauce?
