Don't worry, I understood it all. I haven't played since like 6.54. Has much changed since then? I know it's at 6.59 or something now.
6.60 was just released a couple days ago. There have been a lot of changes and metagame shifts (more focus on the early game, the rise of int carries, more reward for early pushes, etc) and a number of new heroes/remakes. It's worth checking out again!

As of today, my disc. was approved, giving me my doctorate and granting me the right to use Dr. at the beginning of my name.
Though, I'm a little lost for words now. I've spent so many years aiming for this, and now that I have, I'm not sure what to do now. But it is done. Now, I think I'm going to just continue teaching and doing my research. Who knows? Maybe I'll go for a second bachelors in something.

Learning for the sake of learning isn't what life is about.

Is so!

I disagree. If you have a goal, then yes, it can be very worthwhile. But if you are just learning for the sake of it, because you can't think of something else to do, then it's pointless. The knowledge will be wasted and you'll just die knowing a few factoids that never helped you or the world as a whole. To me, that's tragic.
Of course, in the end it all comes down to what you value as important in your life.

I was referring more to the very vague and non-specific "maybe I'll go for a second bachelors in something", which seemed almost to imply she would just do it, because.

I dunno, I think some goal is better than no goals. I know a lot of people who have absolutely no goals in life, so learning for the sake of learning isn't all bad. I think the world would be a better place if people were more receptive to learning even if their motives aren't the best. If someone is going to waste their time with something it's better for them to be learning, than just existing without motive.

Well, Ilyarin has a point. Don't waste your time and money if you don't know where you're going. Take some time to figure that out first.
However, if you know where you're going and you're learning for enjoyment, why not? Like what Fania said.

On the way out of my new town, "Tiffin" I passed a strip joint right? Nothing new. Tiffin seems to be Party Town Ohio...I live behind 5 bars :/
Anyway. Not 40 feet from this stripper bar, there is a medical institution LOL

I won a game via Twitter.
Trixie360, the Xbox Live Community Manager, was holding a trivia contest over Twitter with the prizes being download codes for Sam & Max Save the World on XBLA. And yes, I got one of the questions right and was first to do so, earning me a download code for a $20 XBLA game. I ish happy wif dat.
That said, though, I seem to be the only person I know who's been having pleasant experiences with the Xbox 360 lately. Every other acquaintance I know that has one wants to blow Bill Gates's head off and lynch-mob anyone/everyone who shows even a remote appreciation for the 360. Makes me feel alone.

This summer's starting out really well, after this weekend I'll be spending a week in Disneyland and I'm looking forward to it.

Same! Well...not last Thursday, but still. And I learned I got an A- for the year in English, which is very happy. First time since freshman year
And I applied for an internship with Microsoft....so that I could pay for getting a Mac (well, and college).

The school year ended earlier today.
Unfortunately, I have to figure out what to do about this summer and next year. I have potential to talk to a nice guy over the summer if I ever work up enough courage to reach out like that. Next year, though, most of my friends are gone and there'll be nobody to talk to. Plus, I'm usually alone for most of the summer, too. This is amazingly great at first, but I'll get bored of it soon and have nothing to do!
