I got through another family Thanksgiving with a minimum amount of grandmotherly nagging (she chose to pull the grandmother card on my cousin this year. Yuss!) Also the dog didn't get run over this time though he did try to run through the sliding glass door to the pool. Food was good, no one got hurt, and we all got along very well. Very big success. I hope everyone that celebrated it had a good turkey day and didn't get stomped during black friday.

One more mini rave - It finally dropped below eighty degrees!

ohyeah.gif I had to share this with somebody.

Two weeks ago, my little cousin wanted to draw on the sidewalk with some chalk, but we didn't have any. My female parental unit, ghetto clever that she is, gave my cousin a bar of soap. Worked like a charm-- the side walk is a ripe shade of gray where she drew on it. The rest is still a little... black.

Azoth's "What happened here...?" thread, which proved to be funny enough to take my mind of a handful of things which have been troubling me. smile.gif

What, gonna go naked?

Okay, that was uncalled for. Sorry. I'm bitter. If you stuck me in front of a giant sheet of paper, all you'd see was some hair and a set of eyes.

My skin colour is the same really. tongue.gif

I am wearing clothing, tomorrow looking to see if I can find white stockings and a white skirt.

There are many different types of people in the world. Kind, friendly, altrusitic, selfish, angry...

But there is one type of people that I can really do without. The petty destructive ones.

In my home city Bergen, each year around the end of November, beginning of December, we build something called the "Gingersnap Village". The world's largest city made entirely from Gingersnap cookies. It is a very fun event, and it's a real tradition for us in Bergen. It is especially fun for the youngest, and most kindergartens and schools work hard to create interesting gingersnap houses to be put on display in the Village. Then, during all of december, everyone can come and see the village in all its spicy glory.

Maybe not this year.

Some vandals have broken into the hall where the village was being prepared and have smashed every single house on the night right after all kids of the city were invited to decorate blank houses that volunteers had spent weeks setting up. And just to ensure that none of the houses could be fixed up again, they poured black paint all over the place, creating a huge mess and a lot of work all the while trying to ruin a Bergen children Advent tradition.

These are the kind of people I cannot stand for. Oh we'll probably build it up again. We're pretty good at dugnad so that's no problem. But that people can be so unbelieveably petty as to ruin the work of children. It just leaves me at a loss. Frustrated, angry and sad.

Me and Kira and a few others made a house! Well, it was more like a tower at least. Either way, we've got tickets to watch the grand opening on Thursday and I'm really looking forward to it. Things turned out just fine after all. I knew there was a reason why I love my home city.

Sometimes...knowing that there's a friend who'd listen to you is a blessing in itself. smile.gif
