Ok... Hmm. Well, I used to have this job where I drove around to different counties to record records from various court offices. The job itself wasn't all that exciting, of course, though I did sometimes get a laugh sometimes at the things I'd read. Anyway, the best part of the job was the driving. I've always loved driving, and especially driving long distances where there's nice scenery. But see, my vehicle was the uber suck. One of the things wrong with it was the alignment was all screwed up, which made the tires wear out in the front rather quickly.
Well, I'd known that one of my tires was nearly done-for, but I didn't think it would die too soon, so I decided to risk going to a county that was like 40 miles away to work. I figured, that's not too far. It shouldn't stress the tire too badly. Well, I was right... until I was wrong. The tire lasted the trip to the county and then while driving around the little po-dunk town, but then blew when I was about to get on the exit ramp when I was nearly home. So, I had to pull over and call my sister(different sister than the one I wrote about above)'s fiance, who was the only person I knew who was home that time of day with a car, to come pick me up and take me home where I was gonna wait for my Dad to get home so he could take me to change the tire. Neal, the fiance, had to go to work, so he couldn't do it.
edit: I should add that I needed my Dad cause I didn't have a jack, not cause I didn't know how to change a tire.
When my Dad came home, we went to go find my car... except I couldn't remember where it was exactly I'd left it. I coulnd't for the life of me remember which ramp I had been about to get onto and there were a lot to choose from. So, me and my dad went to a few of the most likely ones and wound up completely lost and then finally I got ahold of Neal and he told me where I had left my car.
See, I'm horrible with directions! It's totally genetic from my Dad's side of the family too. One time my Aunt was trying to go to Lousiana and didn't realize that she was going the completly wrong direction till she saw the sign saying "Welcome to Alabama" and my Mimi one time wound up in Okalahoma when she was trying to get to Houston, TX.
Anyway, on the way back home from getting the bad tire from my vehicle (I didn't have a spare it turned out, so we had to take the wheel off and bring it home so we could get a new tire put on it and then take it back to the car and reattach the wheel. Neither me nor my dad wanted to pay tow-costs and we figured we'd have all that done before the State guys came along - and we did.) my dad was letting all these people out and merge in front of him and stuff and I was like "Wow, Dad, you're building up some good road Karma!" and he was like "Yeah, it's to make up for all the awful things I've been thinking the last few hours."
Not sure if that was silly, but it should've been entertaining. At least to the extent that you can laugh at me and my poor navigation skills!

Hehe, you're the best!
I think you should write a daily or weekly periodical about whatever comes into your head at that moment!

It would either be the most boring thing ever written or it would be so odd people would wonder if reading it had hurt them in some way.

Most people I knew failed their driving test the first time they took it. I passed the first time I took it, but I got a very low score (parallel parking - ugh). I asked the proctor if he'd ever passed someone who'd gotten a lower score than I, and he said, "Yeah, but they didn't speak English."
I learned how to parallel park *really* well. My instructor actually told me good enough before I was done. I used to be able to park 1 inch away from the curb without much trouble, instructor stopped me at about 5 .
I spent hours practicing parallel parking, but I only did your normal pull in park once. So when the test was over, the instructor said I passed, and had me park the car and I almost messed up the pull-in park. Embarrassing.

I failed the driving test twice - once due to my own failures at parallel parking in which I bumped a taxi, the second time because the tester took off points for things I didn't actually screw up.
The third time was a charm - the only points taken off were because I look at my mirrors weirdly.

Well, sticking your head out the window to get a closer look is a bit of a driving hazard.

Love in the Time of Cholera is coming out soon, like TOMORROW I think?! I'm really excited, even though the book has a sort of sad story for me and my life in some ways actually mirrors it (only..minus about 45 odd years or so).
Everyone should read it before seeing the movie, I recommend it. Too bad I have to wait until Thanksgiving break to see it :|
Also when people randomly IM you that you met maybe one time months ago and talked to online once and wish you luck on a test.

Even though I was grossly under-prepared and contemplated leaving early, I am glad that I went to my exam today because now they're OVER and with my skills of a bull-poopy-artist, I will certainly at least pass.
