EDIT: Oh, one final, curious factoid: Caffeine has no effect on me. I've had ADHD all my life (diagnosed in the mid-80s, before it was being over-diagnosed to everyone and their dog), and I still take medication to treat it. One time, I mentioned to my psychiatrist that coffee had absolutely no stimulating effect on me, and he said that's actually a confirmed physiological side-effect of ADHD.
As a result, I can drink as much coffee as I want, whenever I want to, without getting the jitters or being kept awake all night. However, I also can't take advantage of its stimulating effects, either. That's the downside.

Caffeine actually works with my ADHD to make me more tired, so I tend to avoid it most of the time.

I had been really worried about where I was going to get money for the summer, but I found out I have a $443 refund coming from the school, and I've been hired in a job on campus that pays $100/week starting in July. This makes me very happy .

Same here (at least the "immune to caffeine" part). There are days I wish it did. Some daytime versions of cold medicines put me to sleep because they work by countering the soporific (that numbs your throat) with a stimulant, and the stimulant doesn't work.

Getting Subway. Glorious, glorious Subway. It's not very fantastic really, hell, it's fast food. It would be excellent to have a big gourmet meal instead. But I haven't eaten in some time now, and someone is buying me Subway.
I am happy.

It is! It is something that I enjoy immensely. I just forget to do it, or don't have any food when I do remember to eat. I am not very good at this "keeping alive and healthy" business.

http://screwattack.com/videos/Mega-Man Yeah! Full-length Mega Man fan film. Haven't watched it yet, so I can't say whether it's good or bad (likely bad), but oh well!

That's why you keep something like pasta on hand at all times, you can eat that plain, and have it be filling.

Eww, no. Pasta is only good with Pesto, Cheese, or Vodka Sauce.

Hmm.. Pasta without those = not hungry. Being picky when hungry = hungry!
Personally my favourite sauce is butter sauce with spices, which is again, simple, easy and something you can always have on hand.

Just eat dry spaghetti out of the box.

I make a little thing I like to call ghettoccine. Ramen noodles with the water drained out and no flavour package, with a half-assed alfredo sauce. Sometimes I just put some salad dressing on it. I am a champion of life.
Xavius2010-05-09 03:31:52
If you live close enough to a grocery store, you can eat much cheaper and healthier (yes, even cheaper than ramen and salad dressing) if you just learn to cook fresh foods. Especially now, if you're fortunate enough to live where there's a good farmers' market.

How barbaric!
Pasta is without a doubt my favorite food category. I own a wide variety of ethnic cookbooks involving noodles, but Italian-style pasta dishes are my preference.
I have a kitchen cabinet full of herb-infused oils, non-herb-infused oils, dried herbs and spices, dried peppers, dried garlic, granulated garlic, fresh garlic, olives, and so on and so forth. My crisper drawer almost always contains real blocks of Asiago, Romano, Parmesan (of course), etc. I always make the sauces from scratch, although rarely the noodles, even though I do have a pasta-making machine (I'm just too lazy to do that). I've made pesto sauce from scratch, too, and I do love pesto.
Conchiglie (the snobby term for stuffed shells) is my favorite food in the entire universe, second only perhaps to cheese tortellini in cheese sauce, but it's a pain in the ass to make.

I have invented the most unhealthy sandwich I have seen in quite some time. I just need to learn to deepfry the BHT...

I dunno, have you seen KFC's new bacon sandwich?
They replaced the bun with two slabs of chicken. It's literally a meat sandwich, all fried of course. (Only in America....)

I can cook! I just can't drive and have no job.

I read about this far in, and thought "You should deep fry it!". Glad to see we're on the same page.
