Chaplain Cassius
Dreadnought with assault cannon, heavy flamer CCW
-Drop Pod
10 man tact, flamer, combi-flamer, missile launcher, power sword
-Rhino, pindle mounted storm bolter
10 man tact, melta, plasma cannon, combi-melta, power fist
-Rhino, pindle mounted storm bolter
5 man sternguard, 2 missile launcher
-Rhino, pindle mounted storm bolter
Predator, heavy bolter, autocannon
Predator, TL lascannon, Lascannon sponsons
-Chronus (Ignore Shaken/Stunned, bs5 for the entire tank)
7 Termies, 3 TH/SS, 4 LC
-Land Raider crusader, multi melta
Termies and Cassius ride together
First round, my opponent got good rolls. As in, 9 sniper rifiles and a hellfire heavy bolter (Blast) for 15 shots. Made every single to hit. Followed by another squad firing 20 shots, failing 2 to hit, 3 to wound. Had to roll 15 saves on my termies.
Second Round, I came just close to massacring a Grey Knights player. All I had left was the Land Raider Crusader "Serenity" and a squad of troops at the end of combat. If he had destroyed my dread, I could have unloaded 3 missle launchers , plus bolters (and maybe 2 heavy bolters and an autocannon if I recall), into the insanely grouped together troops, and 3 lascannons at bs5 into a land raider plus other weapons. Game ended just before.
Third round, massacre. Just, massacre. Khorne beserkers backed up by some sort of champion who ended up doing 11-15 attacks by himself, for 31 attacks total against a 10 man squad. Just...ugly. Complete with a chaos land raider designed when Apocalypse came out, designed specifically to fit through narrow quarters and bikers managing to come up and chew my tanks up from behind.
Fun, but horrible for my army.
I prefer to play epically.
At one point, my sternguard lost their rhino, cut down to one man. Kitbashed Dark Angel robes and hood with a bolter in one hand, and a flying scroll in the other (From the Ravenwing upgrade sprue, looks like it's blowing in the wind as he walks.). Ran behind the dreadnought, dread got blown up, survived the blast radius, ran through the rubble, across open fields with snipers, lascannons, missile launchers, and all sorts of things able to fire at him, and then decides to back up my terminators, and attacks Pedro Kantor specifically. Pedro kills him, but still.
Against the Chaos army which wiped me, my land raider refused to die. He hit it with melta bombs and lascannons, two melta bombs per turn, it was immobilized, and at least four lascannons per turn. He kept getting stunned and can not move or shoot. Finally, turn six, he wrecks it. When he rolls, he rolls the dice, then uses two new ones. Told him "Trust your dice, just roll with the same ones." Bam, wrecked. Game over.
Previously in a game, I had a Dev squad Sgt. lose his entire squad, fall back, regroup run and jump through a window to take the fight right to the Emperor's Champion. Died quickly though.
Good times though.

What game?

Warhammer 40k.
Sylphas2010-06-27 06:02:13
I have no clue how to play it, but tabletop games like that always sound so epic.
Shiri2010-06-27 06:11:38
Unfortunately they are also insanely expensive, annoying to paint adequately, not easy to cart around with you, and take forever to conduct.

Which is why I've never bothered.

Exalted with Netherwing! Finally! Now I have 6 more dragons to add to my collection!
ongaku2010-06-27 07:59:07
I just killed Blood Queen and saved Valithria Dreamwalker for the first time the other day! My guildmaster also made me a core raider despite the fact that I can only raid twice a week with them. It's become pretty obvious though that I'm their best healer.
And Kial, just to make you jealous, I got my blue drake on my Paladin the second time I was in Oculus after the Cache of the Ley Guardian was released.

Gratz on the kill/save! I've managed to get up to Sindragosa, no kill so far. What's worse tho is the guild I'm in is basically dying. Time to start looking for a new one I guess.

A rave to demonnic who has been patiently helping me troubleshoot and streamline some coding stuff I've been working on. The man not only knows his stuff, but also keeps answering my messages.

I stopped giving my money to apple a while ago, going for amazon mp3 instead.
Then I tried zune pass starting a few months ago and loved it. Finally broke down and got my zune hd last week, and I must say, so far so good. Down with Apple and their products that are both more expensive and inferior.

WOOT! I ordered mine yesterday after I went through every review I could find.

Thanks! We tried Sindragosa, but that didn't go well at all. My raid leader couldn't figure out if we had to stand behind the iceblocks or save the people in them. >< We also tried Putricide, but people couldn't seem to get the concept of "KILL THE DAMN SLIME!"
I'm so glad I'm a healer.

Sindragosa is both unfortunately. Also, unlike Sapph you need to be up against the ice block and not just behind it out of los of the ice beam or whatever she does. It is a -very- annoying yet easy fight to do. Phase 3 always messed us up simply because the ice blocks didn't go down quickly enough so we'd end up with 2 or more at one time.
ongaku2010-06-29 07:06:07
We had like 4 people iceblocked at one point (in our 10-man) because they were bunched together. >< It's going to take us a while to get this fight down. *sigh* And I'm forced into progression runs, so I get to bang my head against the wall on bosses for hours on end. Wee!

So long as the people you're with make it fun and enjoyable!

Yeah, for the most part, I'm pretty happy with this group. A lot of things about it are better than my last groups, not the least of which being that my raid leader was actually IN one of my old groups, so he understands the pain I went through there. Also the fact that I can link stuff I get in guild chat and people won't whine at me because they didn't get it.

I completely 100% agree. demonnic is pure awesome. He's helped me through so many coding problems over the past few months, and he's patient with me since I'm still a complete novice compared to him and quite a few others. He really takes the time to help out when he can.

Progression raids were the most fun I had in WoW. Downing bosses on the first or second try gives you no sense of accomplishment.

Because of my skulduggery with a friend's Linked account(He gave it up, but I got the password, so I can make toons on it and have them follow my alts around for free triple XP^^) I've managed to get both a priest and a rogue up to 60 in under a week, and as a result, I was able to instalevel a warrior up from 1-60 with the level grants from the two link-slave toons.
