Wrote my first newspaper article ever.

Nerd things. I have a column about writing nerd culture. It's like a dream job that pays me no money but makes me look snazzy when I apply to grad school.

(Was seriously tempted to rewrite the paper's feature though. I was editing it and had to refrain from overhauling it...was just...bad.)

The fiction writer can, indeed, write nonfiction. It's a good thing to know.

Nice to be able to look at the events ongoing from afar and not feel involved in the least, nice to be preparing for someone special to be here and living within an hour or two for once, nice to feel good about the essay I'm writing on Global Cities and the one I'm doing on how earthquakes turn from hazards to catastrophes.

Chalking this up to a Real World Rave:
I finished a short story for Bardics. Need to get the opinion of two people the characters are based off of, but I like it so far.

I absolutely adore this Sidereal Exalted I created, and yearn to use her in a real game.

The astronomically small chances that someone actually caught the reference, though, absolutely made my day.

Just out of the blue, picked up Spirit Tracks again and loaded my saved game. I'd been stuck at the Sand Sanctuary duet (I hate you Rael), a few tries, frustration rising, figuring I'd failed again, I apparently got it right and finally moved past it!

Yay!

Also, boyfriend coming this thursday. Finally got the application forms for a NI number, getting it checked over tomorrow to make sure I've filled it in correctly, then just need to send it off, fix my CV because it has my old mobile on it, and I can finally start looking for work.

I adopted two kittens, omg.

I am currently drinking a pumpkin spice latte. Sogoodsogood ahhhh Also, I went in to ask a few places about applications I'd handed in and to turn in a few more and such, and found out that someone I knew in my first two semesters of college is assistant manager at one of the places! She said she'd look for my application. Sweeeet. Maybe job?

I got these in watermelon, and these in turquoise and navy, and these in bright and classic, and these, and finally, these in black. Augh I love this site so much. But I have two whole dresser drawers dedicated to legwear...I may have a slight problem. >_>
