Tully was also an alternative to the Scandinavian word "troll", referring to the mythical creature, but is now used to describe someone who is short and obnoxious.

Today my parents bought my brothers and I into the living room and told us that we were now going to have our real christmas. They placed huge wrapped boxes on each of our laps.
We all got brand new dell laptops.
I am still in so much shock. So much. We are not a rich family at all, they must've saved up for ages - and my laptop was dying a slow and painful death and now I have a new one and I don't have to fret about replacing mine.
So, so shocked and happy.

Woow that's awesome! Sometimes my parents get us pricey things too, and we're not at all wealthy, so it makes me wonder if they secretly stashed a vault of cash somewhere, or are secretly CIA agents.
Surprises are so great

Given that I got an iPod on Christmas day...I was shocked enough as it was. Now I am just convinced someone's going to come and take this away from me at some point!
Noola2007-12-28 17:24:04
That is so awesome Iola!
I bet your folks were tickled to spring the laptops on ya'll like that! I know I love surprising people with presents I know they'll just squeal over and I've never been able to buy anything quite that expensive.

They got the very decent laptops on woot.com for 1300 USD that were up a few days ago, duh.
I love Woot.com so much.

Not to minimize the greatness, but Dell was having a 2 for 1 sale a few weeks back. I know my mom just bought a bunch of new computers for her office because of the amazing deals dell was having for great yet cheap computers.
Iola2007-12-28 21:24:20
That would make sense Dunno if they have that over here too though (England).

Bacon omelette and chocolate milkshake, and all my friends having enough money to pay for their own food, for like the first time ever.
Unknown2007-12-30 01:36:23
You mean you've been paying for your friends' meals all this time? O_o
And I just got Rock Band for PS3. But it cost me $193. I don't know whether to be happy or depressed

Not really, but pretty much every time, at least one person would decide that its ok to go out with friends and eat food while having absolutely no money to their name, so everyone else would end up putting forward $1 extra or something.
Unknown2007-12-30 13:06:48
Actually, I was complimenting the people who made the name that was so unique the only place you could find it would be Lusternia related, as opposed to names like my own which were taken from common names.
Didn't know Tully was a nickname for trolls, or for "short and obnoxious". That's pretty funny. (Although I'd love to see a secondary source to confirm, since WP isn't always known for reliability)

Or somebody randomly thought tully sounded like a good name for a troll and put it in himself cause he wanted to be cool and start a new trend in iceland or whatever.
Unknown2007-12-30 19:51:55
No, I was just suspicious in general 'cause somebody randomly put it in there, a user who only edited articles 4 times--that one, Mermen, and twice for She-Ra. I've learned to be skeptical of WP in general which is why people are working harder to provide sources.
Recently I saw a "Rudolph vs. Frosty" article as a new "Rankin-Bass" production, which I knew had to be a fake since I couldn't find any info anywhere else.
