Am currently, at the expense of my family, picking up some new awesome steampunk clothing. Also have some new fabrics to work with that I nabbed from home... go homemade corsets and loli skirts!

My roommates and I do that.
There is something horribly wrong with these posts.

You can just pick that kind of stuff up? I would totally show up for work as a time travelling Victorian.

You should go dressed up as Daraius, but that would likely just make them all think you're a furry in a tux.

Deep down, we're all just a furry in a tux.

The fact that my US visa application that I applied for nearly a year ago has been delayed to such an extent that I now have to pay for the application process and it can still take MONTHS to be authorised.
Is bad enough you have to pay for it these days, but even worse when I originally applied, there was no charge (which should still be the case for me, seeing I applied so long ago.)
Not only that, but now I have to provide a LOT more information.
Tedious comes to mind.
Keeping my fingers crossed I can get over to see you all soon!

Sounds like a visa application all right, what, you forget one little thing that's meaningless? Something changes? We messed up? Too bad! Time to do it again, oh and send us the fee again please.

Shopping: good end! Everything I got was at least half price. I got a new hoodie (which I needed- my other one was 6 years old and the sleeves looked like I'd gotten into a fight with lawnmower), a super warm hat, a scarf, and some gloves. The super warm hat was supposed to be 50 dollars (wow what is with people and these expensive hats) but I got it for 20 I love after-Christmas sales.

Look for ages in modern stores and you can find that little precious thing! Or... go to second hand stores. >.>
Also, I'm trying to figure out what actual style I want to go with. I'm trying to replace my old clothing with this stuff. Away with all of this teenage stereotypical clothing, and in with this freaking sexy hot damn Victorian/Edwardian clothing!

I am doing the same, actually.

Rave for finishing a late Christmas present thing for the forum I used to run. Totally not well-done at all, but it's not looming over my head, which is nice. Though my old moderators are teasing me to no end...

Got a sewing machine and the table that it goes with for holidays (my mother's old machine). Being interested in, you know, what type it was, I went a looking on the internet.
It's a Bernina 830 (the old one, not the new one). With everything on it. It's more awesome then I ever knew! And it has several different feet, a box full of...stuff, and it's really quite awesome. I shall make pretty shiny things with it, I shall!

In the interest of drawing together two separate threads, Bernina sounds like an awesome character name.

My pocket watch arrived? Happy times commence! And how do I know? Why my pocket watch tells me it is precisely the right time to check.

My family has gotten to Ba Sing Se in our weeks-long Avatar marathon! The Dai Li are exactly what Sentinels should be. They are guardians of our cultural heritage.
