Not playing Lusternia. I love this whole being able to log off for days and not be bothered thing. Started playing Rift with a few people from work and having fun so far.

"Sometimes, you've got to close your eyes and turn your head and PUSH, PUSH your feelings away, they're that BIG!"
Glee.

On Monday evening, the church I am assigned to was broken into. The office doors were bashed in and they took a fire extinguisher to the safe; which, ironically, was unlocked because it is old and the lock is touchy, and their banging on it locked it so that we can't even get into it. They did, however, steal the sound equipment from the sanctuary.
On Wednesday, a young man came to the church and told us that he heard about the break-in and had found where the sound equipment was (I assume it had been pawned). He had just gotten his IRS check and said that he was on his way to cash it so that he could buy the sound equipment and give it back to the church. Which he promptly did.
It was a ray of sunshine in a week that has been devastating for a number of other reasons.

I'm not at all religious, but it always makes me sad to hear about folks breaking into churches.
But, yay for the cool random guy who helped get the stuff back!

Yeah, the point of the post was nothing to do with religion or church--the focus was definitely the guy who saw a crime committed and went out of his way to help the victims. I can't imagine the courage or honesty he had to have to do that.

Erm .... it vacuum seals food and stuff. Sounds pretty lame when I describe it, eh?
I'm just excited that I can more conveniently freeze extra batches of home cooked meals and keep pantry items fresh longer! Not to mention no more freezer burn on meats!

Ah! For some reason (I have no idea why) I was picturing something you'd make funnel cakes with or something. Maybe cause 'Frisp' seems like a combination of fry and crisp?
Or maybe it's cause I want something sweet to eat right now and am therefore applying this craving to the things I read.

Take chicken tenderloins and your favorite salsa and cook it in a crockpot for eight hours on low heat. Make some spanish style rice and some black beans for sides. Die happy.
Isa2011-02-21 03:28:20
That's sounds so yummy and easy!! I love crockpot recipes - so hands off. I made a pretty yummy dinner myself: turkey and spinach lasagna roll-ups. Wish it didn't take me like 2 hours, but at least I can frisp the leftovers! Yay, Frisper!

I love crockpot cooking so much that I have two crockpots. A small one for soups and sauces and tenderloins with salsa and so on and a BIG one that I do roasts in (it'll hold an entire turkey though, it's so big! ).

I love my crockpot, I used to do roasts and stews for potluck dinners back home, but I don't have one here sadly. I can cook either well enough without, but it's just so much easier and the meat always turns out wonderfully tender after stewing in a bottle of beer for half a day.

Found two old Junior High band/choir CDs and popped them in. Listening to them again made me feel happy .
