I'm considering doing that and just reading about what happened in Origins and Awakening (to be economically savvy) but a lot of reviews point out that Origins was still a lot better than the sequel... though I also like Anders' character concept and having a voice for your PC adds a nice touch to the immersion. Decisions decisions! I think I'll go pick up one of these titles on the weekend so I'll have to make up my mind by then.

Yeah I've heard that too about Origins being better than DA2. Anders was cool and I'm happy he's back for the 2nd one, he was the only real character in Awakening that I liked. I also like that they added in the PC voice because the whole "silent treatment" was a bit...irritating in Origins considering I have played Mass Effect before Origins and am use to my character actually speaking.

Anders is my BF in my game. I woulda gone for mackin' on Aveline, but at first I felt weird about going after her right after her husband had died, and then I decided to set her up with Guardsman Donnic instead. Merril's cute but her huge eyes kind of creep me out, and Isabella...she's the most visibly attractive of all of them, but the line in the clinic about picking up diseases was like "haha, yeah, no." Fenris is too much of a little betch. I couldn't bring myself to break Anders' heart, but I was perfectly capable of shutting everyone else down.

Every time there's a conversation option that would steer things towards going into more..."intimate" territory, I choose the opposite of it though. >_> I am not down with that, that is just awkward; make those uncanny valley puppy dog eyes at me all you want, I am not deliberately choosing to have video game sexytimes.

DOA is awesome.

lol I plan to do the exact opposite of that :> Though I think I'll do one playthrough where I'm a complete arsehole. It's interesting how every character in this game is bi and it's totally a normal thing to do!

Big rave. Yesterday at work the Lieutenant came to me and said that the senior dispatcher had quit. I felt bad about it, he was a really cool guy. But the rave is because he asked me what I wanted for a schedule. Since I started working there I have worked every single weekend which pretty much kills any plans for fun stuff. So now I get wed, fri sat and back to work on sunday at 5pm. I am thrilled about this.

Dragon age 2 was awesome, beat it with a snarky shadow-assassin rogue - fun times. Then I made it to the end, which without spoiling anything left a bad taste in my mouth. Though the gameplay was fun enough that I'll probably go back through with a pureblade (I mean two-handed sword) warrior.

The companions were all awesome though (except Fenris - damn emo elves). Merrill's eyes were annoyingly anime, but her dialogue's were funny enough that I managed to resist the urge to stab them out. I didn't care for the fact that if I wanted a good healer, I had to always take Anders though.

If you choose mage, one of your specializations is a SUPER powerful healing tree. It's a little annoying that Anders if the only party member who can heal at all, though, yeah. And then I have to bring Varric to be my rogue, so I only get to really choose one spot in my party, and at that point I make it Aveline because she can tank things for me...

Psh, I will not play through a game that long and have my main character stuck as the healer bitch the whole time!

I have Anders be healer bitch, and just switch on my healer mode as an emergency save for its full-party-revive/heal spells, then turn it off and go back to destroying.

But, but, healing is awesome.

I dunno. Despite having bought the game and played a decent portion of it I find myself horribly bored with it. The first game is 10x better.

I took a glance at the DA wiki to see what Merrill looks like now...and well she's changed a bit from Origins but then so did Zevran.

They did a number of cosmetic changes to the various races for DA2.

OK that's it, I'm gonna get DA:O this weekend, and then pick up DA2 sometime afterwards. If you don't hear from me in a long time... you'll know why.

The cooldowns on the healing skills are far too lengthy to keep it as your full-time combat job!
