While I can't say I'm not happy to see him gone, I'm unsure what exactly this does beside raise morale.

Donald Trump and I do not believe it! This is the biggest scam in history! I demand to see Osama's death certificate!
The best part of all of this is that the news and Obama's speech took over The Apprentice, which was airing.

The best part was a bullet in his body killing him, showing the world what happens when you're a mass murderer.

In Honolulu Hawaii born and raised
In the White House I spent most of my days
Wielding clout, reigning, asserting my rule
Trying to find a way to cut the cost of fuel
When a Terrorist named Osama was hiding real good
Forgot to be as sneaky as he should
I told some special ops that they need to prepare
And said "Go to Pakistan and put him in your cross hair"
I called a press conference and when it came near
The network preempted Trump and made his show disappear
Donald cried fouled and said the timing wasn't fair
I told Trump to suck it, and to fix his damn hair!
I finished my speech hoping the world was a little safer
Then I asked God to tell Osama "Enjoy hell mother f****!"
I went back to my office to Republican's despair
To enjoy my second term in the Oval Office chair

Hooray for an end to Osama. Lets hope that with their figurehead dead, jihadists will find a more peaceful way to resolve their differences with the world.

It's kinda creepy the way people are celebrating his death. To me it's a hollow victory considering the cost of a decade's worth of waging a military operation against a 'terror'. This victory feels even more numb considering that it doesn't end anything. Terrorist cells like al-Qaeda were originally trained by the CIA to operate even without a leader. Plus Osama was a symbol, and his death will only result in martyrdom for 'jihadists' and radicals who continue to fight using terror and guerrilla tactics in the mid-east. So yea... his death (aside from it's symbolic meaning) doesn't really end anything, it'll just perpetuate the already on-going cycle of fighting and death.

All retributive justice is hollow.
While bin Laden's death is a strategic victory, I too fear that nothing will really change.

It's revenge, and satisfying for that reason alone. It may not have fixed anything, but we killed the bastard, and he's dead and gone for what he did. This is the sweet culmination of a ten year vendetta. May the rest of them lie bleeding in their wretched holes as our forces continue to hunt them down and fill them with holes one at a time.

I dunno man... no matter how many our courageous brothers fightin' in mid-east kill, ideas and symbols will always be bullet proof. The price for shedding blood will always be paid with more blood, which is more soldiers dying or ending up wounded in battle. But we've been knee-deep in this crap for 10 years from the beginning when we hastily built a train with no brakes. It's been in motion since then and there's no way of stopping it. Might as well sit down, strap tight, and wait for it to hit something big enough to derail this massive mess we've created.

Let's get it out of this thread. You can start a new thread if you really must but keep the politics out of it to the extent to which that is possible.

My sister turned out to be surprisingly good at Portal, so there's hope that I'll get to play Portal 2 co-op eventually if PlayStation Network stays down. Are there single-player story spoilers in the co-op mode?
Shiri2011-05-03 15:02:56
No, there are no spoilers.

Story-wise, the co-op mode takes place after the single player 'campaign', but there's no spoilers to speak of, so you can play 'em in whatever order you like. I recommend doing single player first, though. Partly because you're gonna miss having four portals when co-ops over, but also so you can enjoy Cave Johnson as early as possible.
