This was a triumph. Despite many imperfections, I think I did all right considering I have no training in cake decorating and very little practice. It's only the second cake I've ever really decorated and my first with multiple tiers.
The bottom tier, just getting started.
My first attempt at making and rolling out marshmallow fondant. It is freaking hard to do when you don't have a lot of space or tools. You can see from my pics the kitchen tends to be cluttered.
Classy black stripes made from tinted melted chocolate mixed with corn syrup, which creates a kind of candy clay.
The second tier, which was even harder to smooth out. You can see bulges and nicks that I just couldn't get rid of.
The completed product. This angle and lighting really highlights what looks like a giant bulge and/or indentation in the top tier. It really wasn't quite that conspicuous.
I love World's End Girlfriend's music. It's almost always exactly what I want out of a song. It's so hard for me to try to pick a favorite. 
It's got pretty classical elements, electronic stuff, and discordant samples of goofy noises all mashed together into something absolutely lovely.

So of course I spent all night cuddling and playing and watching him and Errabundus negotiate an awkward friendship.
