Whoops, that was supposed to be posted in the Dissatisfaction thread.

Vivid memories and blurry pictures stand testament to a truly epic drunken night. Woke up wearing a Russian hat with a phone number wrote on my belly.

Rave for a venti white mocha with whip...the only way I'm gonna get through my day on as little sleep as I got last night. *yawn*

I have my ticket home finally, and the great thing about Christmas season is holiday food. Rather love peppermint, and peppermint hot chocolate is the best.

Also, sorta getting to the point I can start playing again. My list of things to do is getting smaller. :)

When it comes to food, me and Christmas have a weird relationship. On Christmas Eve I spend time with my dad's family, which is full of chefs and good people, so the food is wonderful. It's like they took all those old-timey pictures of huge Christmas feasts and made them real somehow with holiday kitchen magic. I would eat there every day if it wouldn't turn me into The Blob. On Christmas Day, however, we go to my mom's family's thing...and they're more, uh. Pre-cut ham that comes in a plastic packages, and these weird...grape jelly meatball things...and the whole house smells like cat pee...

I have the same thing with my family. My stepmom (whom I absolutely love) and her kids have this weird tradition of making chinese food for dinner on Christmas Day. And not like Chinese restaurant chinese food. More like homemade, kinda resembles orange chicken kind of chinese food. So this year, I took the initiative to write my dad a check and told him, "We're coming over for a prime rib Christmas Eve dinner. Please make it. Thanks." And so starts the new tradition of a Christmas Eve prime rib dinner. Hee!

Rave for much less pain today. I just want to be able to eat solids now.

textbook buyback today. I don't know what's more of a rip off, the price they sell the books for or the price they buy them back for. Got $104 for my $208 Microsoft Office books(which were brand new at the beginning of the semester). Got $47 for my $160 managerial accounting book.

Here's the best part, and it gives me a little satisfaction. I sold them my microeconomics book for $50 that I had purchased on E-Bay for $10.

This is why if you buy from them (your first mistake) you don't tell back to them. Sell them to other places like ebay/amazon (or if you don't trust them textbook rental sites or real bookstores)

They paid that much for them? Wow, that's amazing. My history book that was still shrink wrapped from never having had to use it all semester got opened, then bought for $15 (bought for closer to $200).
Naia2011-12-15 03:09:00
Wow, you guys still buy books? With pages and covers and stuff? That blows my mind. Everything is online at my uni.
Stangmar2011-12-15 18:07:41
Naia, take note. I now hate you.

j/k. I just hate the cost of books. The funny thing is at the beginning of the semester, I bought a book for my Intro to Business course online. Used it for 2 weeks before realizing it was the wrong book. Found that the correct book was online for free.

Also, just found out this morning I got the ONLY A as a final grade for that course this semester. Like a boss.

Unless it is a computer course, online textbooks are really not that great in use. I don't know about you, but having to use a computer in class and not get distracted by the internet? It is not going to happen in an undergrad class.

I taught an undergrad class (as a postgrad in the same faculty) over the last semester and maybe 3 out of 90 odd students brought laptops in, and I'm pretty sure it was only to check Facebook.

The average grade I gave was around 70% and I was made to redo them until I ended up with an average of 63%. Only one of my students was able to get an A also. So definitely be proud of that.

Yes. but I took your 'everything is online' for that most classes here say you have the book in class everyday.

If you don't need the book in class everyday then I understand that only 3 people brought laptops in.

I recently rediscovered the biggest mob dance of the world in this.

I think I'm gonna add it to my sig, because that song is awesomely fun to watch.
Stangmar2011-12-16 21:25:14
I take my laptop to every class. Yes, paying attention is hard.

Finished my business law final today and sold the book for $103.25, I paid $160 for it.
