Ytran:

Why are you playing Mass Effect on a console?

Because there is nothing wrong with playing any game on console. ^^
Lendren2012-03-28 11:20:48
Nothing wrong with it, sure, but if you're having trouble aiming with controllers, using a mouse might be a lot easier for you.

You would think so, but a lot of the time companies just set up the controls for consoles and then port it halfarsedly to PC without actually making it suitable for mouse use. Skyrim (and Assassin's Creed) was at the nadir of this trend but I found Mass Effect pretty bad in that regard too.

I spend half my time in combat in Mass Effect with my weapon pointed at my feet or the sky as I hopelessly attempt to aim in the direction of the fight. This is an improvement over the 100% when I first started, but has still resulted in many sad, sad deaths. Double-sad because I have everything set to super easy to make up for my controller aim handicap and I STILL die in a game people complain about the combat being too easy in. Woe.

Got called by the work director for the new position this morning, who asked if I could meet with them in an hour. *squee*

Not exactly dressed for an interview today, but whatever. My plan is coming into fruition! Next stop...two weeks notice on Friday.

Arsalil:

In a perfect world: I'll have my in-person interview with the hiring manager on Wednesday and give my boss my two weeks notice on Friday. Here's hoping!

My younger sister is majoring in some kind of engineering, electric-mechanical something like that, I dunno. This semester she had to take a course to learn programming, so now once or twice a week I get an email or text from her asking something, I'll explain it in a few sentences, and she'll reply something like "omg, you make so much more sense then my useless professor, thanks." And now I'm just

Making clear goals and decisions about my life.

Feels good.

So...according to the work director, the job is mine!!! I just have to wait for the official offer letter before I put in my two weeks notice. That could take a couple of weeks, but at least I know I'm almost done with this place!!!!!!!! :D

There's a leucistic mourning dove hanging out in the woods behind my house. It's like seeing a shiny Pokemon! :D So coool. He's just cooin' and bobbin' his head around, hanging out with his normal mourning dove pal.

Being paid to fish.

Hell yeah.

Not only is that terrible, it's also illegal.

After getting no replies while looking for a job I got a reply almost immediately from a place that wants me to start today. I checked out their website and the address, just to make sure it wasn't super shady. The best part is that when I asked if I'd need to cover my tattoos (of which I have a lot) they said "no should fit in fine."

Passed my driver's license exam with a only-just-barely-not-perfect score. ^_^

Also date-thing on Saturday. :)

Booking for events at the Hay Festival opened today and I have booked 12 things so far for my main three days, including, but not limited to:

Stephen fry talking about Bi-polar disorder.
James Watson hosting the annual science lecture.
AC Grayling debating with a Bishop and also talking about literacy and education.
Tim Minchin performing with his band.
Rolf Heuer discussing the current progress at CERN.

and and and it is all in Hay-on-Wye, the TOWN of books. (A small town but with 29 bookshops!!!!!)

I AM SO EXCITED.

Which is very unusual for me.

The last time I was this excited was last July in the taxi from Geneva airport driving towards CERN for my tour. :)

Also, London Lusternia meet just over 3 weeks away!
