I'll be back home in the US on Tuesday! And I have a job interview next week! If I can survive the flight, things are looking up :)

Three more weeks, three more projects. Then I'll be free to waste my life on Lusternia again.

Or so you can elope with the pigeon of your dreams?

I already 100% completed Hatoful Boyfriend. It's a lot easier to play that for just a little bit than it is for me to control the time I spend in Lusternia. Logging in to Lusternia means the next 6+ hours of my life are guaranteed to be Lusternia. And although I tend to be wildly irresponsible with my time, I do make an effort to avoid known time-destroying minefields. >_>

I wonder if your pigeon dating will bleed into lusternia. Phoebus suddenly is stricken with one of the pigeons in the city of Hallifax, but it is a forbidden love between those two star-crossed lovers. Coo-coo ka-choo.

I've only been at my new job (which I love!) for a little over a week and I already feel like I'm a productive, helpful member of the team. <3

Registered for my Summer Classes today. One's online, the other is early in the day, so I can probably find a job with compatible hours easier then I would otherwise.
Now I just need to overcome my nervousness and actually find a job.

Online classes are hell. I avoid them at all costs. I want personal interaction with my professor so I can read them and understand their expectations, as well as keep on schedule.
I'm not taking summer classes, i'm going to relax for a few months. I've got a job lined up that pays $2,000 + room and board for June and July. All I have to do is sit around and make sure a bunch of teens don't get drunk and stuff.
My fall schedule is set up though, i've got morning classes from 7:30 to 10:45 on M-TR. I have night classes on Tues and Wed from 5:15-7:45. Fridays are open. I already have a job lined up(it's my old job at the Testing Center, i used to work there in 2008).

My grandmother gave me 80 dollars. In indefinitely unemployed currency units, that is like striking it rich. 80 dollars! That almost makes up for all the overpriced cafeteria lunch I bought this semester. Whee!

It's for a program called Upward Bound, part of the TRIO program. It's where high school kids spend 6 weeks out of the summer living on a college campus and taking courses. It's a great way to get a head start on college. They recruit from low income families and families where the parents never graduated from college. I participated as a teen, since my mom never finished college and my dad never went. Now I'm going back as a Tutor/Mentor. I basically tutor them when they need help, make sure they stay on track, and don't let them sneak in alcohol or drugs.
The downside is that generally, the kids they recruit from those backgrounds seem to have more behavior issues and problems with authority. The last summer that I was in the program, we had about 10 or so kids that would NOT get their act together and ended up being kicked out. A few were arrested and one went to the ER at 12 am for a drug overdose.

I was in Upward Bound in Middle school. Took a few summer classes for a few weeks at UPenn. Was pretty fun.

It's a great program, we only have it in high school here though. I took it my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Helped me get a good head start on college. I had my associates within a semester of graduating high school.
I went and had my background check earlier for the job, and I wasn't thinking that they were going to take fingerprints, so needless to say, I was a little alarmed and uncomfortable when I finished my paperwork and the girl snapped on a latex glove and ordered me to stand up. The first time I ever had my prints taken digitally. I was actually impressed with the timeliness of the process. I arrived at their office at 2 pm and was out by 2:10. That is a personal record for shortest amount of time spent in a government office. Usually it takes over an hour to get anything done, especially at the DMV.

So, though we've been trying to keep sutures and a bandage on my dog's wound for the past weeks (to no avail), the vet today said something to the effect of "Screw sutures". They cleaned out and removed bits from the wound, and gave me a tub of noxious yellow goo to slather on it twice a day, but I think this'll be way more successful, and my dog's big open woundy thing will finally heal over!

New stove is shiny! I'm going to have to read this manual, but at least it isn't twenty two years old like the old one was (we found the old manual, it was all skinny and little for a manual). The new stoves manual was all thick and has so many features, including some neat steam cleaning thing which apparently cleans quicker and more efficiently. Squeeeee.

Family dog has arthritus, and has been in pain for a while. But yesterday he finally got painkillers (Been trying to persuade my parents to get him some for months), and today, for the first time in a LONG time, he walked upstairs and then (with a little help) climbed onto the bed. Happy he's on the road to recovery :)

My mom is discovering that she can safely eat gluten again, and remembering that I enjoyed baking before the "DON'T MAKE BREAD, THE SMELL IS TORTURE" rule was imposed upon the household, she has asked me to bake some fresh bread. I am excited to get back into it again (making bread is fun!), but paralyzed with indecision! Does anyone have any bread they think is especially awesome to make?

This and this are my favourites to make, though not especially difficult or unusual.

Oo, the rye bread sounds good. I'll try that one then, thanks! :)
