So a friend made me aware of a pretty cool mod for a game called Arma 2. It requires you to have the DLC(or expac whatever) to play it, but its called "Day Z" and basically takes Arma2's realistic shooter mechanics and throws you into a zombie situation! Looks like a lot of fun, and am waiting for steam sale of the game so I can buy it to play with her. Hopefully my computer will run it.

My sister named her daughter Evelyn because she liked the nickname Evie. Today, I heard her say this nickname together with our last name, and I realized something. Something I can't believe I didn't notice until now.

Eevee Feebas.

"Andrea, your daughter is a Pokemon."
"What?"
"Eevee and Feebas are Pokemon. Her name is Evie Phoebus. Your daughter is a Pokemon."
"Oh, god dammit-- wait, since when is our last name a Pokemon?!"
"Since like third generation."

She was not amused.

Raves to my "intelligence"? It took me a good ten minutes to work out that Starbucks was packed because it's finals week. Sheesh, the rare rain here (another rave!) makes me all around sluggish.

After spending a painful week in the hospital suffering from pneumonia that they weren't sure I was going to so gracefully recover from... I'm home! :) And couldn't be any happier than I am at this moment because of it.

My ability to the access the internet has always been somewhat sporadic, and perhaps always will be. It's never been a primary concern, for me. It seems amazing to me how something that began as a passing curiosity years ago, exploring a little understood hobby of someone else, (and on the computer, no less!) now invokes genuine joy when I have but an hour of free time to come back, and revisit another world and lives. Even two months after I rather abruptly lost my connection last time.

A huge rave to the admin who continue to make this world possible, and the players that continue to enrich it. Caught a few old faces, but I still miss IRL many others. Much love for you all, even those who don't know who I am off my Seren. See you soon, I hope. :wub:

I had forgotten how much I loved The Silmarillion, especially Ainulindalë. I risk being trite any time I talk about it. It is like a soothing balm on a bad itch, and a breath of fresh air after being under water. It's odd, because it's not precisely new, as countless others have been inspired as I am by it, but were possessed with the will and skill to write of their inspiration. I am always amazed by the awesome power that a simple, well told story has to uplift the spirits.

Wooo, Silmarillion! I am, honestly, not that big of a fan of LotR, but I fawn over this.

I want to continue this with more amusing misunderstandings, but I can't think of anything else clever enough to say/misunderstand-with.

Yeah, I know, I live in Central/South texas where tex-mex food is a really common thing and people make that joke about gringos all the time. I still think it'd be hilarious if you mis-pronounced the word at a drive through and someone gave you a tortilla (Tore til uh) wrapped around an action figure of Vegeta or something.

Finally got my written assessment back from my creative writing class. Got an A. YAY!

My sister is amazing because she got me to campus with enough time to complete my last, huge final exam, which had begun at 8am.

This was after I pulled an all-nighter, accidentally "put my head down for 10 minutes", and woke up at 8:30am.

My sister is the best sister anyone could ask for. (Don't tell my other sister. >_>)

Now I'm going to collapse in this bed and sleep for eons (until I have to work in a few hours).

I'm doooone, I'm done I'm done I'm done. Done done done. Wooo! Semester complete!

I'm going to spend a glorious Friday evening doing absolutely nothing, and then I can be back to doing what I actually feel like doing with my time again.

Job interview, even if I don't get it, it's nice to know I am actually being considered.
