I am a perfume nut. I found this one that reminded me of Glomdoring, so I got it. I smell deliciously mysterious in it.
THE BLACK TOWER
Say that the men of the old black tower,
Though they but feed as the goatherd feeds,
Their money spent, their wine gone sour,
Lack nothing that a soldier needs,
That all are oath-bound men:
Those banners come not in.
There in the tomb stand the dead upright,
But winds come up from the shore:
They shake when the winds roar,
Old bones upon the mountain shake.
Those banners come to bribe or threaten,
Or whisper that a man's a fool
Who, when his own right king's forgotten,
Cares what king sets up his rule.
If he died long ago
Why do you dread us so?
There in the tomb drops the faint moonlight,
But wind comes up from the shore:
They shake when the winds roar,
Old bones upon the mountain shake.
The tower's old cook that must climb and clamber
Catching small birds in the dew of the morn
When we hale men lie stretched in slumber
Swears that he hears the king's great horn.
But he's a lying hound:
Stand we on guard oath-bound!
There in the tomb the dark grows blacker,
But wind comes up from the shore:
They shake when the winds roar,
Old bones upon the mountain shake.
A sepulchral, desolate scent. Long-dead soldiers, oath-bound; the perfume of their armor, the chill wind that surges through their tower, white bone and blackened steel: white sandalwood, ambergris, wet ozone, galbanum and leather with ebony, teak, burnt grasses, English ivy and a hint of red wine.

Salem, Part One!
Despite a bumpy ride getting here -- about five whole hours via car! -- it was totally worth it.
My stepdad and I got here at about 2 PM, and were told that we couldn't go into our rooms yet 'cause they were still cleaning them. So we decided we'd hop over to our favorite restaurant from the last time we came... "Fountain Place".
The food was as delicious as last time. I ate too much and got a stomach ache, but I haven't eaten that much in a long time, or that much that was tasty!
We walked around afterward for a while, picked me up some tylenol, and visited a few Pagan stores. One store we visited had a woman in her late thirties running it. My 56 year old step father flirted with her, which was highly awkward and humorous at the same time. When we finally left the store, my stepdad said,
"Lord, why do You torture me with sexy devil-worshipers? Have I not been good in Your eyes?"
My stepdad and I went back to our room, hopped onto my computer for a while. Then we went out for dinner and headed to the Salem Brewery. My stepdad had some German home-brew and a Pumpkin home-brew. He said, about the latter, if he wanted pumpkin pie he would have bought it, not drunken it.
While there, I ate half of a half-pound hamburger and five mozzarella sticks. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really friendly and happy, and my stepdad didn't yell at me when I couldn't finish my hamburger!
We bought me a sweater because I was cold. (70 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer... lolwut?) We hopped back home, and I went online. My stepdad passed right out, at about 8 PM.
This is going great. Expect to hear more!

I survived my last shift of work, despite losing my voice for the first four hours. Everyone was so sad to see me go, especially the Manager I was having troubles with (huh, if I'd known that'd warm her up to me I would've threatened to quit long ago ). I got a big hug and was told to visit and say hello.

Salem, Part Two!
Today we didn't do that much. Because I'm sick (Gods damned it, I'm always getting sick), I didn't wake up until 2 PM. My stepdad scolded me for sleeping in, saying being sick was no excuse.
Then he gave me a shirt he bought. It says Salem on it and has three shiny butterflies. And it's pretty. So I wasn't angry at him for scolding me. Nor was I angry that he got the shirt for $2 (1 Euro).
Eventually, we ventured out to the Fountain Place for lunch, I was too late for breakfast. We got hamburgers, the first in a few months. And I ate 3/4 of the hamburger, which is about 4 oz of beef. And I had lettuce and tomato on it. And it was good.
On the way back to our hotel, we stopped at the Broom Closet, since I'm in need of a new wand. $60 (40 Euros) for a four inch long wand. The really nice ones ran about $250 (168 Euros). I haven't bought a wand this trip, but I do need one since I broke my last one. And I need a new pendulum, since I broke my last one of those, too. but the prices for them here in Salem range from $5 - $30 (3 Euros - 20 Euros).
Then we stopped at... a store with a name I can't remember. It was next to "Remember Salem". I got a dress last time from them, but this time the quality and number of dresses dropped... but the Salem-labeled shirts went way up.
We went back to the hotel, picked up our camera (we took no pictures so far! And still haven't!) and then headed to the House of the Seven Gables (Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote a book with the same name). Sounded like great fun...
... until I was packed into a small, tight space with 6 foot high ceilings with 20 other people where there was no A/C. I got sick, and when the tour ended, we left back to the hotel.
Stepdad felt bad since I got sick and panicked, and since when I asked if we could leave, he told me he was enjoying the place so we had to stay. So he bought us Pizza. We both laughed when we discovered Salem can't make pizza for the life of them. Tasteless dough, sweet sauce, and dry mozzarella.
We went out for ice cream after. I couldn't finish mine, but it was delicious. Some sort of uber Ben & Jerry's icecream... Chocolate Paradise or Chocolate Delight or something.
Went back, watched CSI and stuff, talked a bit, and we both decided that tomorrow we should have pancakes for breakfast.
Despite the getting sick and panicking, it's been a really great day today, and I'm enjoying Salem a lot.
PS: My stepdad snores like an angry bear.

Salem, Part Three!
Today I woke up at 7 AM. For those of you who don't know me, this is a horrible, horrible thing. I hate waking up in the morning. In fact, I hate the sun. Someone should blow it up so I can wakeup whenever I please. I figured I wanted pancakes, so, me and my stepdad went to Red's Sandwich Shop which is actually known for its awesome breakfast.
My pancakes were a foot in diameter. I kid you not. A. ing. Foot. In diameter. I didn't get to even finish one, but, MAN THEY WERE GOOD!
After that, we went to CVS, picked me up a new sketchpad and pencils. Also bought some snacks so I can eat if I get hungry tonight, since Salem's restaurants close at about 7 PM, latest. Most close at 5 PM.
We brought the snacks back to the hotel, and then went to Samantha's Costume Shop, and bought me a new medieval dress, since my bust is too big for my old dress. :: Peers at her chest. :: Anyway, the dress was lovely, and everything else in the store was priced at about $160+ (180+ Euros). Which worried me, since I was only carrying $116 (78 Euros). So I show it to my stepdad, and he told me I'd just owe him money. We bring it to the counter. There's no pricetag on it. The man at the counter tells me that the store has a rule, that all things without a pricetag cost $75 (51 Euros). Boo Ya, Baby!
We bring the dress to the car, since I don't want to hurt it and its dark-brown velvety prettiness... (Oh so pretty...) and head onto the trolley. The tour isn't great, but the tour guide was hilarious. City View bus tours. This guy was crackin' jokes left and right.
"Any birdwatchers on the bus? *long pause* I guess not. Well, you're all in for a treat. Today, I'm going to show you Salem's Bird: The Jaywalker." Every time someone jaywalked by our bus, he'd say, "And there goes the brown-crested red-backed jaywalker." I don't remember many of the other jokes, but he pointed out something amusing. The old resident's home was between the Salem Memorial Graveyard and the Funeral Parlor. The Funeral Parlor was right next to a church. I guess once they die they have a short trip, huh?
We took the trolley to Pickering Wharf (which I am very fond of), because I needed to find a new wand. For those of you who don't understand, wand-shopping can be very stressful. You need to find one that suits you, is the right length, and is within your price range. The first couple of stores we went into had... well, it made me want to cry in a bad way. Four inch long wands that ran for more than $200 (134 Euros). Also, I didn't like a lot of the store-keepers because they... I don't know how to phrase it. You know how when someone's better than you at something, or thinks they are, how they tend to just look down at you and sneer at you? They acted like that.
Then we found a little store, kind of hard to find, called Nu Aeon. It was a Pagan store, so, me and my stepdad hopped in. When we walked in, the atmosphere was really nice. It didn't smell strongly of herbs or incense, and when I walked in, I was greeted with "Merry Meet". The store owners immediately wanted to help me find what I was looking for, and I claimed I was browsing. After a few minutes, I said I was looking for a wand under $80. So you know what the man behind the counter did? He took out all the wands he had, in their silk wrapping (SILK! ) and laid them out. He told me they were all under $80 (54 Euros), and he told me that if I chose one under $50 (38 Euros) without opening the wrapping to see the price, he'd give it to me for $40 (27 Euros).
And I ran my hands above the wrappings, and then stopped and picked up one, and I said I wanted that one. He unwrapped it, and it was this beautiful rosewood wand... priced at $49 ( Euros). So the price was dropped to $40 (27 Euros). No. Tax. And my stepdad paid for it instead of me, because he wanted to. And the guy told me a bit about rosewood, and then a lady that worked at the store gave me their card with their phonenumber, and she said to call whenever I wanted if I wanted to have a nice chat about magick!
We brought the wand home, went out for dinner, bought a salad (that I couldn't finish). Then we came back to the hotel, and to Xenthos for showing me Star Pirates, which actually made my day a bit more better than it already was. Then we went to see The Mummy 3. And my stepdad bought me a bucket of popcorn. With real butter on it. And I ate the whole thing.
What the was I thinking? My stomach hurts so bad. But the popcorn was so good.
The movie was... ehh. The plot would have been better if they didn't display it as a mummy movie, and actually took out Fraiser's Character's family, in my opinion.
Now I'm home, and everything is going great. I would go out to take the ghost tour, but I'm feeling waaaay too full right now.

Having the last day in the lame summer-job today and beginning my interesting university studies next week. We will see how much time and attention it requires but I'm very excited to begin there!
Also, since much of the studies will probably take place in English, I hope to be able to improve my skills with the language and be thus able to enjoy Lusternia more without feeling sad for my lack of verbality.

I survived surgery and have gotten to play the dramatic invalid who is pampered and spoiled. I would play it up a little longer but I am getting cabin fever and am ready to get out into the world once again. My medicine makes me a little giggly and stupid, so if I seem a little spastic you can blame that.

McDonalds
Wait, what?
Yes. My wife decided to have McDonalds for lunch, and for some reason, she ONLY eats Happy Meals. Her toy? An Ewok Bobblehead.
It's pimpin'. Really. If I can get a pic of it, I plan on making it my avatar.
