Well, woo. Seventeen. Now I get to legitimately stress about taxes and college. Enthusiasm agogo!

You complain now
About being seventeen
Life's still more complicated
Than you can yet dream
But worry not,
And wisely
Spend your wishes
Also, hopefully, this birthday
You can convince mom
To do the dishes

Happy Birthday!
P.S.: Yay on the spot poetry.

It's a lie. They never do once they realize you're capable.

I know. When my mom was around, he had me washing dishes at 2 with my sisters. The good old days.

Going through and cleaning out my email inbox I found some delightful pictures of Airell dressed up for halloween. I got quite the giggle, and I have nice pictures to bring him when I go visit for his 19th.
Custom made cards are ever so fun.

You're only seventeen? You sound so crazy stressed out about stuff in the RL rants thread, I wouldn't of guessed you to be at 16.
Apparently it's also Kharaen's birthday.
Happy birthday everybody!

Even better than a birthday:
I have a full tank of gas, and I paid $2.99 a gallon for it.

They are indeed, 1.17 per liter here as opposed to the 130-40 it was here a month ago.
Xavius2008-10-07 04:42:43
Obligatory unit conversion:
US$2.99/gal = US$0.79/L = Can$0.87/L
Can$1.17/L = Can$4.43/gal = US$4.03/gal
US$2.99/gal = US$0.79/L = Can$0.87/L
Can$1.17/L = Can$4.43/gal = US$4.03/gal

Well, I also live a lot further north than Toronto area (where it's somewhat cheaper) so higher shipping fees are attached.

I've paid higher than $4.03 for gas once. Never trust rural gas stations. Their signs all lie.

After running through a small town with two gas stations in it, one being rather cheap for the time and the other being quite expensive. We learned to look a bit first.

I ran into more than one station that had one posted price, and when you get there, all of the pumps have different prices, and you have to drive around and look closely to find the one podunk little pump that has the cheaper ethanol blend. One time, I went inside to ask where the reasonably priced gas was, and the cashier told me that they were all out. I couldn't exactly keep going without gas. Omaha to Laramie is not a one-tank trip, even in my little Caliber.

I have seen the hilarity that is "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia". Why didn't I get into this show sooner.

Awesome show! Need to start watching this season.

I think I'm gonna greyhound it to visit the fam for christmas this year instead of flying. I just compared prices and it's almost $200 cheaper to take the bus!
I'm totally willing to sit on a bus for 13 hours (each way) to save $200!
I told two of my coworkers of my bus plans and they both went "OMG, no!" and started digging around trying to find me cheaper plane tickets and managed to find $300 tickets (instead of the $400 ones I'd found).

Should tell them what I tell my family and friends, Stabbing and Beheading only between Winnipeg and Wawa (I live close to Wawa, but I'm below that area). It's usually enough to quiet people down. It's definitely cheaper to bus it than fly, I was fully prepared to spend 11 hours on my bus to get to Toronto for the wedding.
Now, if there's any areas in the States that fits the between this and that part, use it so they understand where you're talking about.
