God damn it! London apparently got a huge snow storm with trees/power lines down. We didn't get anything here! God I can't wait 'til I get to walk to school with snow nearly at my waist! Weeeee!

I've gotten off school for "possible snow" and all it did was rain. Then again, where I used to live, more than two inches of snow per winter is like a blizzard.

I've gotten something similar, "Possible Hurricane" was the reason. It was a thunderstorm.

...Hurricane where we live?

It was when I was fourteen (I'm nineteen now, so five years ago?), and it like.. somehow crawled up to Ontario. It was classified as a Hurricane due to the amount of damage it caused down south, but it was honestly nothing more than a thunderstorm.
We got a friday off though!

I used to have the same thing happen to me, but then I went to TU and they never closed. Once I got halfway to my next class by standing at the top of a hill and drifting to the bottom on the ice and slush.

That sounds fun!
As a rave: They cancelled the power grid upgrades for tomorrow, so hopefully they decide to do it on a day when most people don't need it in their homes or the majority of us wont be home.

More detail please! It's hard to imagine what's happening on very little information!

Mostly a lot of bumbling and light rods falling out of place and cussing and the Boss yelling for Kelly the IT guy to come help him and him and the other Amanda cracking jokes. But, after about twenty minutes of effort, there is light in the break room again.

FIber OpticS? or perhaps FIber Optic System?
Verizon FIOS is supposed to be faster than normal cable internet, I think.

Yup, that one. I tested it at 5-6 Mbps, which isn't that great, but its a good deal better then what I had (usually less then 1 Mbps), plus we got the TV too, which means I get lots more channels and on demand stuff too
Edit: I just downloaded a gigabyte of game demo in under 20 minutes. On my old DSL it took multiple hours.

If it's anything like your avatar, be a dear and make it a link instead of showing directly. The thought of that scares me silly.

After some Internet browsing, failed file transfers, and the deletion 99% of all tones and graphics from my cell phone (though granted, that's not too bad since most of them came with the phone in the first place)... I finally figured out how to transfer a ringtone to my phone without needing it to connect to the Internet.
