Currently taking bets on when gas prices in Omaha will drop below $2.00 a gallon. Price is currently $2.07. Entry fee is 1cr, winner gets 40cr.
Noola2008-11-02 02:55:32
Lowest price here in Little Rock is $2.18. Betcha if I somehow got my car fixed, they'd skyrocket again. Stupid Murphy.

Dropped to $1.99 yesterday here in Lexington, KY.
Diamondais2008-11-02 03:25:01
Our gas is at 99 cents per litre. Probably still expensive compared to the prices that're being put up by the Americans in Gallons (I fail at conversions), but quite nice compared to it being $1.40 up north just two months ago.
(Especially since my grandma is here and driving me around the city for everything I need, I have a crock pot. )

Still in the 2.70s here.
But hey, it's so much lower than it was... can't really complain too much.

My grandma bought me a baby rose bush, it has pretty white and green petals.

Lucky. It's running between a dollar 46 and a dollar 70 where I am. Changes every 8 hours, depending on the weather, as far as can be told.
Out in the NT and WA it is over 2 dollars a litre, because they can charge whatever the hell they like.

I just filled my car (9 gallons) up for ~$65 dollars. Yay ~$7/gallon. You Americans can't complain about "high" fuel prices!!!

We've been through this, you can get anywhere on one tank. I can't get across the state on that.

Then don't go across state, stay in your city! Why do you need to go anywhere else? *eye* Homely...

Cheese factory tours. Movie theaters. I live in a tiny, little town in the middle of the woods.

It's a false comparison. Many tax costs related to building and maintaining the transportation infrastructure are folded into gas prices in most of the world, because it makes sense: the more gas you use, the more of a share you should be paying for maintaining roads. Those same costs still accrue in America, they just show up in other places that make somewhat less sense, like income taxes and property taxes.
