I just heard back from the dealership that sold me my car and they've agreed to pay half the total bill for the repairs. Yay!
Paying $400 is way better than paying $800!

I sat up the last two nights watching TV with a good close friend of mine. We stayed up until 6 am the first night and 3 am the second, as she was in visiting friends of ours, and just talked. It was really, really nice .

Rave/Rant
Rave: Got myself a new, shiny, elliptical.
Rant: Said new, shiny elliptical is currently kicking my behind. I can only do 5 minutes at a time at resistance level 1, which is the lowest available.
Rave: I can burn 900 calories per hour with this baby!
Rant: I can't -do- an hour on this thing yet!

How fast are you going on it? You might try going slower so you can go for longer. When you find a speed you can comfortably go at for like 15 to 30 minutes, then slowly start increasing the speed week by week.
Unknown2009-01-29 16:39:57
Well, I tried going slower and it makes it burn more. I'm not sure if you're familiar with free weights, but it's kinda like lifting slowly. It burns SOOOOO much more doing it slower than at a regular pace.
I do intend to work up in speed and time, it'll just take a while. The first time I tried it, I could only do 5 minutes. Just a few minutes ago, I did 10. I intend to do small workouts of 5 to 10 minute sessions throughout the day until I get up to around 45 minutes, then add maybe a minute to each session until I can do larger blocks of time. Then, the whopper of a single 60 minute session (daydreamy).
In either case, I'm utterly thrilled because I -finally- have one. I had heard so much about them and wanted one for a year. Now, with my free weights, stability ball, and elliptical, I pretty much have a gym at home. No more relying on the weather outside for walks. No more annoying public gyms. Woohoo!
Now, if only I could stay away from chocolate...

Ah, well that works too!
I don't own one, I use them at the gym. But, that means that I can't do it like you're doing cause I can only get to the gym once a day really. So, I go slower for longer and work to speed it up. I use the elliptical for 30 minutes on an interval resistance setting (it goes from level 2 to level 4 back to 2, spending five minutes on each) and going at about 120 -130. Generally wind up burning about 275-300 calories this way.

That reminds me of how much weight I actually have to lose.
The more you weigh, the more calories you burn doing any type of exercise. At this point, I can burn around 130 calories per mile I walk as opposed to a healthy weight individual who would normally burn 100 or less.
On a good note, I'm down 35 pounds. There's no way I'm saying how much I have left to lose though.
Edit: The interval thing is a good idea. I'll try to get to that point once I can get up to a reasonable amount of time. Thanks.

Jigan for trying to explain how to write poetry to me. I'm not sure I got it, but the fact that he went to the effort makes him awesome.

It's all variations of
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Lord Fain is mad,
and he's gonna kill you.
Just replace:
Nocht, stare at
Terentia
Elostian, bored, chat with
Charune, unsure, poke
Maylea, happy, dance with
Estarra, bored, confuse you
Viravain, amused, torture
Eventru, bored, blind
Lisaera, ???, ???
Roark, unamused, delete
Jigan's instant poetry.

I found those easier to do on the higher resistance, for some reason.

Having at home everything from ellptical to some weird other things for stamina to a simple stand-bike (no clue what it's called in english) I have to say nothing beats an hour of running, really. If you are intent on it and go running four times a week when cutting, you can lose a lot of weight and increase your stamina at the same time. I went from barely 3 km to about 12 km in an hour over two months or so.

Running hurts my knee.
Plus, I hate it.

Running depletes the energy I might need should I get chased by wolves unexpectedly.

But, just imagine the shape you are in after you do it for a few times. And you need an ipod. That works.
But I guess it helps I can go run in our forest. I always see deer when I do it in the evening a stuff. Really cool.

Now you see, my dad has a cat and his name is Captain. He is a ginger tomcat who loves to plague me every time I visit. Each week I despair at his continued aliveness, at his perpetual and unending existence. He has a hell-born cuteness and siren-like tilting of the head that draws in your hand for a gentle massaging of his fur. He lulls you into a false sense of security and leaves you all too vulnerable to the trap of his claws and teeth. I rail against the cruel gods who could have sent such a beast to plague me!
No more, I say! This week I grasped his head firmly between my hands and applied a gentle circular motion to the fur beneath his ears. Thus enraptured, I was able to explain to him, with great glee, how in the Heideggerian viewpoint his being necessitated the non-being of an infinity of other hims inexorably linked to his existence. I had ensured the concealment of an infinity of other Captains, just by letting him be!
He paused as if to respond, but no meow issued forth, and I knew. This week, the victory was mine!

Hmm. Either Caffery is raving at having made friends with the cat... or in killing it. I'm not sure which.
