Woo! I got myself a job!
Probably the easiest job interview I have ever experienced. Someone gives me a cup of coffee as I walk in, I sit down, my future boss asks me if I have any experience with the disabled and after hearing out my answer, hires me.
Well, my mother is a special education teacher at a nearby school and she recognised her name. But frankly, I know I am able and if my relations do help me get a job in these uncertain times, why not.

You need to find the right company, which I realize is difficult right now. I spent five months job-hunting (BEFORE the recession really hit). Then I got an interview with the company I work for - they called me back for a second interview in two days and I had an offer two days after the second interview.

In Ohio especially, you're competing with some pretty scared people who either recently lost manufacturing jobs or are in serious risk of losing manufacturing jobs. Layoffs hit production lines first, so there goes pretty much all entry level options for you.
The other thing you might consider is a different career path. If you can't get a job in your primary career path, think about the next major promotion you would want and what skills would be required for that, then get a job that will teach those skills thoroughly. That way, when things do get back on track, you can apply straight for the position you really want.

They changed the lead singer, if I recall correctly. It's no longer Tarja.

Aye Tarja was a mile better, whilst I like the new one, it just feels like an overall new band...a slightly sub-standard one at that.
On the topic of job interviews, the one I currently am at, the interview consisted of the two of us talking for 10 minutes about the Foo Fighters amongst other rock music then the interviewer saying.."Oh yeah, I need to ask you these questions but ill just fill them in anyway because I think you should work with us."
