So, my dirty little secret is out... I like Poke'mon. I played red,blue,yellow,green,gold,silver,crystal,fire red,leaf green, ruby AND sapphire. I have all of my poke'mon stored away and such. A friend of mine got the new DS version and he said you can pass forward your poke'mon from Fr/Lg and from R/S. IS THAT TRUE!!?!?!?

I know the new game lets you trade online... Would be nice to get a legit Celibi but I dun think it is going to happen...

I've been dying for a DS so I can play Pearl.

Anyway, top five:

Ampharos, Scizor, Venasaur, Vaporeon, Gyarados.

I admit it, I played the red one, back when it was still the cool thing to do. Then I cheated and played through the game with a dratini only, closely followed by playing through with one of those rat things.

I haven't tried the newer ones, but I used to love Blue/Red, and played Crystal on my emulators. Ruby/Sapphire suck on an emulator, since the game clock doesn't run while you're not playing.

You can trade from Fire Red/Leaf Green to Ruby/Sapphire no problems. You need to trade your Pokemon to FR/LG to be able to get them from Gameboy Colour to DS.

Global Trade is COOL.

Fr/Lg can trade to the DS, but R/S/E can't?

I LOVE Poke'mon! I haven't played the DS versions yet, nor do I think I will, since I've lost interest in the Game Boys.

Man, I was a Poke'mon FANATIC as a kid.

1) Bulbasaur. Best poke'mon to start with in the first games, the coolest overall.
2) Clefable/Togepi. Metronome is just too fun.
3) Lanturn (sp?). Water/Electric, high HP, high attack power. Loved it.
4) Espeon. So adorable!
5) Dr..dr..something. The poke'mon that evolves right into Dragonite. They're pretty!

Just a note: global trade sucks. Unless you've arranged a trade with people through forums or such, the general global trade function absolutely blows. Seems every single person in the world wants a Mew.

I'm pretty sure you can trade from GBA to DS because the GBA has infra-red communication? I'm not actually sure, I never had a GBA.

ds has a slot for gba carts simply insert gba cart (FR/LG/Em/Ry/Sp) and open your Pearl/Diamond, later in the game you'll be able to access the Pal Park where you can transfer 6 pkmon (dependent on your gba's party pkmn) from gba carts to the ds.

Ah, yeah, that's right.

I personally just love an eevee team it might not work well but eevees are awesome.

I originally chose an Eevee team in R/S/E because you didn't have to make a choice. Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, Espeon, Umbreon.

Now with Glaceon and Leafeon you had to make a choice betwen 6 out of the 8, so I decided to scrap that team.
